Weird neck stripe thingy on petsmart save

Connecting aliens is a fairly common trait.
When I bred a black pastel male(that has connecting aliens on the neck) to a normal this year both the black pastel hatchlings and the normal hatchlings had the same trait.
The normal female I used has no connecting aliens.

I don't think he's talking about the connecting aliens...there's this faint stripe you can see running along the neck, sorta through the aliens...

Could be something related to the incubation process since its on both sides. Still looks cool regardless!

Oh well, those don't look exactly like pied markers on his belly to me.

Well, I spent a year staring at the stripes on my het pied's neck, hoping they would turn out to be SUPER SECRET het pied markers before I finally gave up and concluded they were just normal variation. If this little guy had turned out to have actual pied markers, I would have gone right back to hoping...
