    Post your craziest strike
So my baby cinny struck at me the other day while swallowing her hopper! I'm not quite sure what she was trying to accomplish but man she is a vicious lil bugger. Anyone else have this happen or please share any other strike/bite stories.

Pretty much every baby I've hatched out has stuck at or bit me.
I want my babies to be like that since those are the best eaters :)

Now getting struck by a huge hungry female is another story

My female pastel is a complete diva...
So she killed her food and i was waiting for her to eat (i like to watch:P) But she just kept staring at me as if to say "Can you go away pleassssssee". :P She started to poke her head out of the box so i tried to push the flaps closed from the outside and she managed to go around and give me a lil kiss! As soon as i closed the box she started eating, go figure... Snapped this pic for memorise :)

My Dumerils owns the title of "Craziest Strike" for me. He goes absolutely berzerk when he smells rat. A few weeks ago I was basically standing sort of sideways to reach his tub. I had the rat in the tongs pretty much in front of my face, expecting to just raise the lid and quickly stick the rat in as usual, but this time he didn't wait. As soon as I popped the latch on his tub, he launched about 2 ft out of the tub. All I saw was open mouth coming at my face. Fortunately he snatched the rat and knocked the tongs out of my hand. Scared the crap out of me. I have since relocated his tub,and now I use 24" tongs to feed him instead of the 12" ones. I also now use my hook to open his tub...:gj:

My red tail boa girl decided she wasnt too happy with me on feeding day a few weeks ago and clamped on my finger

She only weighs 130 - 150 grams so it didnt hurt, infact i did even know she bit me until i looked at my hands while typing on the computer LOL

Also, i didnt get bitten, but its hilarious:

My new TINY 8 gram corn snake (Yes, he (or she) only weighs 8 grams LOL) struck at me with a closed mouth

I just felt a little bump on my finger lmfao

    hes too cute :)

2 weeks ago during a ripper of a thunderstorm. Feeding night for my normal female, who at the time hadn't eaten in over 2 weeks. First strike was a hit and release on the rat. When I reached in to try and offer it to her again, she struck at me. She has never shown any aggression before. She hit but didn't bite, just a little drool.

I came home one day to a dead animal smell and immediately checked the rat tubs - because they're the most likely to have a death from old age or stroking out. No dead rats.

So then I start going through snake tubs in the same order that I feed, but didn't find anything dead.

Went back through them in the same order that I feed, not thinking that I'm turning on all the snakes to feeding (they know routine, and that routine means food is coming). My biggest female came FLYING out of her tub on the second round and latched onto my hand.

Oh and the dead smell - in the bedroom in the three tubs I didn't check immediately - one of the girls had killed her prey (I'd checked on that the night before and left her alone to eat). Well, she didn't eat, but had the presence of mind to leave that dead rat right on the heat tape, and it took until I got home from work (I fed at midnight, left the house at 5 a.m.) for it to get good and bloated and stinky.

My newest bp always comes flying out of the enclosure when it is feeding day. I dropped the mouse in and the snake came after me instead of the mouse. It took the snake a good 30 seconds to stop striking at me and find the mouse.

years ago i was showing a lady friend of mine that was scared of snakes that their was nothing to be afraid of. i reached into a cage to pull out a very sweet 14' burm that had never been agro in her life; she of course picked that moment to strike and latch on to taking my whole hand in her mouth. "see i told you their is no reason to be scared of snakes" i said to her as i worked at getting my had out of the burms mouth. lol

I've told this story before but here goes. At a breeder's house (also a freind). He wanted to move a 12-14 foot retic, so he grabbed the head and I grabbed the back half. He trips and falls. Lets go of the Retic. I guess I held onto the snake a llittle too tight, and it swung around and grabbed my left hand. Then he coiled onto my arm. Short story short. It wouldn't let go, even after dunking him into a sink full of water. It took a pint of whiskey to get him to release my hand.

The biggest issue was it was chewing on my hand, not just clamped down on it. So, I've got some scars. Talk about blood, the sink water was red, my blood was all over his floor. You would have thought there was a murder committed there.

    That one hurt!

I still think my best strike was one of 2. one a bp and the other not. I had a bp snape on my thumb ( half way down her throat ) can wrapped about pulling my thumb completly out of socket.

The ohr was when on a snake call, took my niece( she was like 8-9 then) removed a black rat snake while talking to the people we all hear a thud.
Didn't think anything of it. on way home feel something crawling over my arm( going out the window). I grab it with out thinking and pull in 2 feet of black snake that very pissed about escaping ruined from an moving truck at 50+ mph.
I trying to pull over (driving a stick shift ) with one hand holding a snake attached to my forhead( right above my glasses), take the truck out of gear, calm my niece( who wants ot ope nthe snake bag to make sure that it not the other snake we caught) all while gonig around a curve. I get stopped told her to just hold on, sitting here with a knife removing the snake ( butter knife type trick but with a hunting type ). To top it off here pulls up a cop that I didn't see wanting to know what going on. To make it simply I was laughing so hard after I got the snake off the cop prolly thins to this day I a weirdo lol..

Last year I rescued a BIG 5'-6" 3500 gram male BP. At the time the snake was more like 2500 grams (fairly malnurished). This snake was so hungry, he would try to eat just about anything in or around his tub. Anyway...I had his tub sitting on top of his rack and offered him a large rat that he eagerly accepted. I came back in about 10 minutes to see if he had finished his meal and since his tub was on top of the rack sitting I had to peak over the side of the tub to see how he was doing. Needless to say...He was still hungry after finishing his rat and he came flying out of the tub at face level. I felt like Keanu Reeves in the Matrix when he was dodging bullets! I managed to get out of his way, but did fall flat on my butt.

After all of this I had to use the lid of the tub like a riot shield to get him locked up and put away. Now that snake is well fed and healthy, he is a total puppy dog and has not struck at anyone since.

These are great stories! I just can't imagine flying down the road at 50+ mph with a snake attached to my forehead... I haven't laughed this hard in forever!

I don't know what's gotten into my female Spotnose this past week but last week after feeding her I went back in to make sure everybody ate and when I opened her tub (and she had already eaten by the way) she came flying out. She's in a top shelf and was pretty sure she was still in a feed response so I went to shove her back in with a hook and she nailed it so hard the hook went to the back of her mouth and she started to wrap it! Fortunately I never took off the rubber covering or she might have knocked a tooth out. Laid it down and she eventually unwrapped it and calmed down. Yesterday, went to check on everybody after they ate again and when I got to her tub, she came flying out and struck. She gets a small rat every week and isn't quite big enough to move to mediums yet but apparently she wants more. She's never done this until now but she's turned pyscho suddenly. But she's a great feeder so I'll take that over some of my other more laid back animals.

Okay, one more. This didn't happen to me but a friend of mine. He was wearing loose gym shorts and went to get a Tokay gecko out. It flew out of the cage and decided to clamp down on the family jewels. Needless to say my friend hit the floor and went cross eyed.
