    Feeding while shedding
Ok so my female bp is going into shed, her eyes turned gray about 2 days ago and today is feeding day. I feed her a small adult mouse every 10 days. I was wondering if it is ok to feed her today or wait till she is done shedding then feed her? Opinions plz? And what is the towel trick to up the humidity?

I myself would wait until she has finished the shedding process to feed her again. It will not hurt at all.Generally Ball pythons wont eat during this process but some do. As for the towel trick,I believe that is placing a damp towel over the top of the enclosure(if you have a screen top of course) in order to keep up the humidity.

If she is willing to eat then I would feed her. I feed my bp regardless of if he is in shed or not.

Ok. Does your bp have any problems shedding after it eats? I over read a thread saying that it can cause stuck sheds or complicate it or something like that

Ive been feeding him in shed ever since I got him which has been 9 months and I havent had any problems. As long as ur humidity up the bp should shed in a full piece regardless of having eaten or not.

Really it's not that you're going to cause an issue, it's just that you may find an uneaten mouse/rat on your hands. You can always give it a try.

I offer during shed, but mine doesn't always take. I offer live so I don't have to worry about freezing/refreezing. Just drop it back in the tank with his fellows until the next feeding day.

I always offer food regardless of shedding. Most of my snakes eat while in shed. Every once in a while one will refuse. It will not hurt your snake at all.

yea some ball pythons refuse to eat in shed. But I say as long as they are willing to feed then there shouldn't be an issue.

As said by others there is nothing wrong with feeding during shed it's just that some balls won't accept food during shed. As far as the towel thing putting a towel over a terrarium/tank with a screen top can help keep in humidity but don't cover the whole top because you still want some air circulation I'd leave about 20% uncovered.

I always offer food to snakes in shed. It does no harm. If it takes then it take. If not then try after its done shedding. No harm in trying.

I also feed mine while in shed, if they refuse then that's up to them! I don't think I've ever had one snake refuse while in shed though.
