Interesting Dinker
http://i189.photobucket.com/albums/z...r---female.jpg
I'll be breeding her this season and my fingers are crossed that she'll prove out.
Thanks for looking.

Re: Interesting Dinker
She is just gorgeous! I hope you can prove her out!

Re: Interesting Dinker
just stunning!
got a boy here that looks rediculously similar ( very dark, reduced, matt sheen, almost complete stripe, etc)
what are you planning on plugging in to her?
i'll make sure i go down different routes - maybe compare notes at a later date?
-
Nice I've gotten to where I'm liking the darker animals..good luck with her..

Thanks and I would love to see yours, would you happen to have a pic you can post to this thread?
I thought about breeding her to a Black Granite but I on the other hand I don't want to breed her to something else that is dark. I'm leaning on breeding her to either a Vanilla or Mojave Pied. Comparing notes on this project sounds like a good idea to me.

I've always liked the dark ones, thanks for the good luck!

I would like to see her paired up with something just as dark, maybe a chocolate or a sable....
I love the dark morphs though :D

Re: Interesting Dinker
this is him in bright sunlight - under natural light, he's as dark as yours

Here's a pic of her as a youngster but as you can see she has darkened since.

Re: Interesting Dinker
So she's gotten progressively darker? I wonder if this is similar to VPI's morph (can't remember what they are calling it) that gets darker with age?
-
Re: Interesting Dinker
she's killer man. i the first pic she looks simular to Tim Lanes (ballroom pythons) "voodoo". but the pic of her younger looks just like all of the het pieds my male produced this year. best of luck with her, i wouldnt be shocked if she threw some pieds;):gj::gj::gj:

Thanks!
I would be totally shocked if she produced any Pieds but if she produces I'll know the babies would all be Het Pieds.

Re: Interesting Dinker
Very interesting! What's the story with her? Where did you find her?
Congrats on the lock and good luck!

Re: Interesting Dinker
This is a stupid question but what does the term "Dinker" mean?
-
there are lots of animals out there like that, my friends mom has one and ive seen several others, iirc they either have a very lackluster super form, that barely looks any different or they dont do anything. but its been quite a while since i saw any threads on them

Re: Interesting Dinker
Awesome dinker. :) Aside from being unusually dark, I love how her patterns seems to be melted or fading. Hope she proves out :gj:

A dinker is a snake that looks "different", but has not yet been proven to be genetic. Kind of an experiment.

Dinker just means the pattern hasn't been proved out yet and you need to dink around with it to prove it out. This may include breeding him/her to a normal or other base morph and seeing what you get.

Steve.. She is Very Very nice.. I had very similar male in Florida but I need let him go before i move up north...
Good luck with her :gj:

This is a gorgeous female, hope she proves out. GL!

Wow, how many grams did she weigh before you paired her up? That's a ton of eggs!

They look like Mojaves? Nice looking animals!

Re: Interesting Dinker

Wow!!! It does remind me of a mojave still but..very different..so cool!!!

Those are some gorgeous mojaves. Are you thinking that the stripe came from mom, or is striping common in mojave het pieds?

I produced a number of Mojave Het Pieds and none were striped like this litter nor were any of them so black. Striping in Mojaves does happen but I'm certain the dam had a lot to do with the striping and overall darkness of these babies.
I think in a way it resembles a Black Magic aka Black Pastel Mojave but lacking the lateral flames but is something entirely different.
