Pastel lesser female has arrived, and a caution about shipping bags...
My little 2010 Pastel Lesser female has arrived. What a relief, I always worry about shipping.

She is fine, but as I look into the bag I see one of the yarns that is used to sew the bags together wrapped around her body twice, TIGHTLY! The other end of it was still attached to the bag, so I couldn't lift her out. I quickly snipped off the yarn. It left 2 indentations, but I think they are superficial and should go away. Never had this happen or even heard of it happening. I'm just glad it didn't get wrapped even tighter, or around her neck, head/eyes, etc. Guess if I ever ship an animal I will look inside the bag and snip off any long pieces of yarn. Just a freak thing, but might be worth looking into...

Anyway, she is BEAUTIFUL, sigh :) I only made a couple quick pictures and weighted her, and set her up in her new enclosure to relax and de-stress.

In the first pictures you can see the indentation from that piece of yarn. Btw, that yarn is thin and strong, it could cut a snake if tight enough.

She also seems to be going into shed, her belly has a slight pinkish hue...I will make new/more pictures after shed and some feedings, don't want to stress her.

I'm so thrilled with her :)

    Same problem!
First off, beautiful little girl you have there.

I had a similar problem with a snake sent to me a few months ago. The bag had some long string on the inside and it had wrapped around the snake a few times and I could not take it out of the bag. Had some deep indentations like yours does, but within a few hours, it was totally gone.

Good luck with her, she's a beauty.;)

It is advised that when shipping reptiles to turn the bag inside-out, I guess the shipper missed this. Glad she arrived safely shes a cutie :)

Great looking snakey! Love that wicked head pattern.

Never heard of the issue with the bags before. Definitely something to watch out for.

Talked to the breeder, the little girl is def. getting ready to shed. She is already so beautiful in person, can't wait what she'll look like after shedding...

Thanks for the compliments, now on to finding a name :)

I was just going to suggest that :). Then you wouldn't have to even worry about it. Even if you snip any threads you see the movement of the snake could possible loosen more during transit.

Hey, glad she made it ok.
The breeder should have turned the bag inside-out. I´m sure she will recover.

    regards

pretty girl first of, I make my own bags if I need them ( from scrap fabric) and I leave them inside out cause of the fine threads ) or I double stich the bag so the snake can not make contact wit hany loose threads.
Pretty bag bought the sewing machine for mom and I use it more than she does lol. The worst part is I never had asewing lesson in my life but I learn to do small stuff myself. it amazes me how many people can't do simple task anymore.

Nice pick up, and as others have said; turn the bag inside out when shipping! Also double check all seams as well to ensure no escapes.

    Thanks all :)
She is resting comfortably. Only hoping she will eat good, as well !

Making shipping bags out of scrap fabric is actually a great idea and so easy to do! You can make stylish bags, too, LOL. Turning them inside out makes sense, thanks for the suggestions.
