Mistic potion??? Pic

Here is a pic of what I saw when I cut into this egg. Any guesses on what it could be? It's still in the egg and still looks the same. Here is the female.She bred to a mojave. This was the only egg of 6 to go full term. What do you guys think?

Here's a pic from one of her offspring from last year bred to a different male. Don't know if it's the same type of gene carrier. Sorry no side pics of the female at this time.

From that lil pic it does look like a potion, but weirdly mom doesn't look like a mystic :confused:

Could be. I'd wait until it comes out to be sure. Could be that the color hasn't fully come in, though I doubt that.

What day did you cut on? What are your incubation temps? Could be something really cool or just a nice Mojave that hasn't colored up yet. Haven't personally hatched Mojaves though hope too in a few months :)

Here's a belly shot of the female. Cut the egg on 54. Today is 58 days and it's still purple and white. I've had other snakes change colors before hatching but I don't think the pattern is going to change. Does this female look like a mystic?

I believe it's day 60 today. I hope it comes out soon no matter what it turns out to be.

The snake in the egg looks like a potion but the mom doesnt look like a mystic. You may have something else going on there. I will say it is hard to tell untill it leaves the egg. They do a lot of coloring up in the last couple of days. Snakes cut just three to four days early will fool you because their color hasnt come in all the way. I cant wait to see it out of the egg.

Not yet!!! Today is day 62. Now I'm starting to get worried. It's still alive and moving around. I guess it will come out when it's ready.

It's still in its sack. How long can they go for in the sack? From what I've been told it's starting to turn more brown and yellow. Sounds like a mojave to me. I haven't seen any new pics yet, but I never would have guessed that the purple and white egg I cut into is now turning brown and yellow. Looks like you where right. I'll get some pics.....if it ever comes out!

I am not accusing anything,but it sounds like your incubation temps were too low. The egg was not cut real early,but from the looks of the snake and the fact that it is not out of the egg yet means it was too early to cut. The color is the last thing they get, they litteraly are getting color even after they leave the egg. They always look ghostly when they are cut early. I cut sometimes early when I cant wait to see what I got,but everytime I do it I am trying to guess what a half colored snake is...

They were suppost to be at 89 degrees. So if they were at lower temps, say 87, would that have that much of an impact? Everything I've read says 87-89 degrees. I've had them change from creamy and black to brown and black,but from purple and white to brown and yellow....CRAZY!
