Sad Day
*sigh* So I just ordered a beautiful little male Anery het. Albino Red Tail from Minnesota and he just got in today. Being how cold it is up there his breeder put a heat pack in the box and when he got here today I opened the box to a very foul smell, and he was upside down when I saw him, poor little guy had pretty much cooked to death being in the Oklahoma heat with that heat pack =(.
She's sending me pictures of the other males for me to pick out one and I'll have a replacement shipped out in a few weeks when it cools down a bit. But its still sad, poor little guy, I really liked the look of him =(

awe that sux, im sorry to hear that babe...in lighter news i just got my 1st Boa, from the new england reptile expo...from JimiSNAKES (Jim Reed).
ill post some pictures soon.

Yeah, but sometimes these things happen, it was just an accident.
Nice! He has some beautiful snakes, what did you get?
-
Wow that does suck. I am sorry it happened.
-
Yeah =/ his breeder is really sad too, she's really upset about the whole ordeal. She's a hobbyist breeder so they're all like her pets to an extent.
He had the cutest little half open mouth hiss, she called it his "joker face"

Re: Sad Day
that sucks..... I am so sorry that u experienced this..... I have had things shipped to me, but the shippers usually watch the weather to know what isgoing on before shipping
-
She was watching the weather but she didnt realize how hot it would be down here, its still in the low 90s daily.
Either way she's replacing him for me, which was great of her, so I can't complain too much, I just feel bad for the little guy, but he's getting buried in the back yard today.

I'm really sorry to hear that, I had the same thing happen to me, but it was with a super cinnamon female ball python. Hopefully this time it will go better for you.

Re: Sad Day
thats a real bummer to hear that im sorry i guess i got lucky when Garrick DeMeyer shipped my two lil bps he put a heater pack in it but i guess it wasnt a very long lasting one cuz by the time it left Wisconsin and got to Arizona it wasnt hot anymore they were only being heated by the Arizona sun for a short minutes
im sorry for your loss i hope that ur replacement is worthy enough to take this past ones place
-
Haha I literally used to live a couple houses away from Garrick. Sadly I didn't realize this until after I had moved to Oklahoma.
Yeah this was a 40 hour heat pack, in fact its still putting out heat as I type this and that boa came in 13 hours ago.
The new little guy has a wicked head pattern, not quite as nice of a tail but he's still purty.

Re: Sad Day
that sucks but at least he is still a purdy new snake
you would think that they would have used i shorter liftime heat pack
-
Re: Sad Day
Sorry to hear about that. I have been in that situation before, but with a gecko. Not sure why they used a heat pack, though, since it's not that cold yet...I'm in Wisconsin and it's still in the high 60's/low 70's - hardly cold enough to kill a snake.

Re: Sad Day
haha to me 60s and 70s are cold im a desert rat i love me some triple digit weather

Re: Sad Day
yea Garreck is Great, he actually held my order when I told him how hot Arizona was at the time. I had to wait a month but I prefer that than the downside.
Now the wee babies are happy and waiting on new racks.
