Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I'm a serious collector headed toward casual breeder with the ball pythons. I already have a hobby business with breeding corns snakes, so why not add ball pythons and boa constrictors as they become ready to breed? For me it's all really just for fun.

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I had to choose serious breeder.. I have about 75 adult BP's and do more than a few clutches each year...but I wouldn't consider what I produce yearly a "butt load"..lol..but I would jump at the chance to do this for a living!

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I selected casual owner as I have not yet bred any of my snakes. I currently own 8 BPs with two more on the way in the next month.

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I put serious collector I have 6 different species, and casual breeder I am looking at 15 to 20 clutches this tomming season (might be a lot to some) but to me it does not qualify as boat load and would not be enough to make a living at it.

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I chose casual but I'm working toward the serious breeder class. My friend and I have added about 10 morphs to our BP collection in the past year putting us at 13 BPs and 2 Boas.

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I have 1 bp - an 08 0.1 normal. But I'd really like to get another in the near future. Perhaps a lesser/butter or a pied if I can afford it, lol.

And someone up there mentioned having 5 dogs. I can one up, lol - I have 6! And they are all in the house.... ;) Insanity loves company....

I'm going to say soon to be casual breeder if I can get my BPs eating regularly. I'm very interested in breeding some herps, and I figured that 6-8 eggs would be a much better place to start, rather than 15, possibly two clutches of that, with corns.

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I voted Casual owner. I bought my first ball python a year ago this month and now have 4 snakes total with the plan to purchase another ball at the upcoming Tinley park NARBC show. I would love to step into the realm of breeding in the future and if all goes well, I should be able to.

I clicked serious collector, as i have several morphs (bee, lesser, pin) and not produced a egg yet. Hoping for 2 clutchs this comming season, Flexwatt and stats on order for my next rack and 'bator figured I would get set up for the next half dozen first. hoping to pick up pied, axan and Bl. Past. to throw in my mix over the next year or so.

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I am a hobbyist breeder myself, currently with 13 ball pythons in my collection (plus a couple that are available for sale). They are pets first, and breeders second. And I love doing local educational shows whenever I have time . . . never hurts to get a more positive spin on snakes where I'm at--still lots of people that think they are "scary".

    BAD Morphs
I voted serious breeder because I one day hope to get to do this for a living but as of right now this past season was my very first season. I produced 7 clutches so not a huge amount but should double that this yr. I have about 40 adult breeder bp's of all different morphs and normals. Then I have about 18 babies. They are whats left of the 7 clutches I produced.

I haven't owned snakes since I was 16. Now after over 15 years, I've picked up a 2010 (July to be exact) Spider male, and have a 2010 (August) Bumblebee female arriving in a few weeks.

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I chose casual breeder, I currently have 8 ball pythons and will have a few pairings this coming season as follows....

Mojave (gold blush type) x CH Normal Poss. Granite
Mojave (gold blush type) x Normal
?????? x Mojave (could use some ideas on this one but not looking to produce bel's)
(these next 2 providing my cinny het pied gets to size**fingers crossed**)
Cinny het pied x Het Pied
Cinny het pied x Normal(Picking her up soon(holding back all PH female cinnys)

More still to come before the seoson gets going.

I am just a casual owner! I have 2! I probably will never breed. In fact, I purposely make it a point to only buy males so that I'll never be tempted to breed! I'd probably do a breeding loan with a hatchling as payment, but I have 3 kids and I'm a single mom. I don't think I have time for breeding!

I have a female normal, female pastel, and male spider. I am going to try and make a bumblebee at some point in the next couple of years.

    none of the above.
Few clutches, what i want to produce, and what i think is cool.
    Anything else is bonus.

    quality > quantity.

Well I put Casual Owner but I think it's more than that. My first bp was when I was 16 and he was a rescue. When he passed away I knew i'd want another one but it just wasn't in the plans until my bf bought me one for Valentines day this year. Now, we have 3 balls, our normal, a mojo male and our new girl, a pastel. We plan on breeding in the future when everyone is up to weight.

I am getting a normal ball python relatively soon, and I may want one more once I have him. I heard that they make good pets...and the ones that I have come into contact with have always been really cool and docile.

I'm a hobby breeder who has always loved all animals but especially snakes. With still about 30 in my collection and a special place in my heart for my favorite Female super dwarf retic :)

I've had to free up some rack space and decided not to work with hets but I'm still in it for the long haul and plan to have quite a few pair ups this season.

I'm in it for the fun. Love keeping snakes and love the possibilities when breeding. There is nothing more exciting then waiting to see what morph comes out of those little leathery eggs.

I voted casual breeder. I've only ever produced one ball python clutch and one corn snake clutch. As of right now I don't have the space to become a serious collector or serious breeder, but I hope to someday. For now I am content (sort of :D) with the snakes and projects I have. This year I'm hoping for 2 clutches of ball pythons. I am also hoping to add at least one corn snake and 1 ball python to my collection in 2011.

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I hope that breeders have a passion for what they do and not just a desire to make money.... I know if I had the time/space to have a bunch of snakes I would loveeeee it. I only have two though.... one BP and one beautiful boa =)

I actually took my baby columbian rainbow boa to the hamburg reptile show and was going to get rid of her to buy something cooler, and I couldn't do it.... had a $200 budget and just could not get rid of her!

Re: What kind of BP owner are you?
I think to make it as a successful breeder you need to have a passion for it. its not something you make money off of right of the rip. I would get into it as well if I had the money or the space.
