    New Codom/Dominant morph needs name
OK these are not the hottest morph produced but they are proven genetic.I have produced 4 clutches of these, i went for the super this season but either missed or they are a dominant gene.Looking for idears on names as i am usless at naming things.

Haha, that's pretty neat! It's almost like the white from the belly is leaking up. Can't think of any good names though. Scalloped belly maybe

Belly Dancers (because of the way the belly color seems to dance up the sides)

im pretty much useless at naming things too, but i was thinking Mono ball, cuz the sides remind of a mojo but they have some normal colors as well.

    Chris

I actually have a Male I held back that had the same "Belly Dancer" pattern and extreme blushing from his mother. They are actually locked up right now, so hopefully I will find out something from them this season.

I will send a pic if interested

That's really impressive! I surprisingly like it a lot, especially the white that's going up the sides. I'd maybe say to call it a Sidewall Ball?

atleast form the pictures, looks like he only hatched 3 or 4 of them, so if its a dominate gene, he had a good chance of missing the normal.

Re: New Codom/Dominant morph needs name
Codom chance of all 4 eggs being het: 6.25%
Dom chance of all 4 eggs being Het: 32%

Considering that people can breed double hets and get the double hom form of traits, that 6.25% isnt all that unobtainable. And hitting a 32% is so easy. So, yeah, it's entirely possible to not get a normal from breeding two dom/codom traits with only 4 eggs.

    You got good Odds!

Dominant you can still produce a normal if both parents are Heterozygous for the dominant gene 25% chance normal actually

Explination: both parents have the possiblity of passing on the wild type from that gene since they have one of each

If you have an homozygous dominant, it would still look like the Heterozygous animal but only be able to pass on the 1 morph gene because it does not carry the wildtype half of the gene

He has the little white tear drops coming up the belly and great blushing but the pattern is not the same as yours

He is actually from a Yellow Belly X Import girl (also has blushing and looks like faded white teardrops) He was the only Not Yellowbelly in the clutch.

His sister is a whacked out YB with what lookes like the white but replaced with Yellow

I will get pictures of her in a few

If you decide to sell some of these, I'd really like to add one to my collection, I think there is a LOT of potential there.

    Those are very nice.

Honestly I never really paid much attention to the White "Belly Dancer" pattern on mine...I like that name for some reason...LOL

I was more interested in the Flames / Blushing and how they were very extreme even on the non-yellow belly also. That is why he is locked up with mom as we speak.
I actually looked her and daddy over really good just now. Apparently my founding YB male has that pattern more so than the mother but the mother still has some nice Flames on her. I will try and find some pics of her since I don't want to disturbed the romance that is happening...LOL
