First time breeding
So I have a norm f to a pastel m
And I just put them together yesterday, so far the interaction is slim to none. And she is a big sissy to begin with :-) he's not really doing anything that looks like he's interested and neither does she. She's kinda just hiding from him and
What exactly should I be looking for?

Just keep pairing, I have a spider male that I never saw locked with any female, but he obviously was getting the job done :), produced 4 spiders in 1 clutch.

Well another reason could be the temperatures... It's really not the season to be breeding. Most breedings start in october and go through early year. I know here in so cal it's way too hot to try introducing the males to females. Your best bet would be to just wait til the colder months, keep feeding them and getting them nice and big and trying again later in the year.
I do know of some breeders who breed all year long but that's because they have precisely controlled environments that give optimal conditions for this.

A tail lock is usually what you look for :)

lol, some boys are slow starters, some seem shy you never see a lock but 2-3 months later you get eggs.
Have either of them bred before?

My second clutch was laid last night, and am expecting 2 more shortly. I must admit that I got a late start. I don't have a precisely controlled environment just a tiled reptile / rat room that I keep at 79*

You also had it in a forum that wasn't about breeding (Morphs and Genetics) - so I moved it to the Breeding forum for you.
They don't always lock, and they don't always figure it out the first time. You've got MONTHS to go before you're even close to an ovulation and eggs, so they've got a lot of time to figure it out.
Be sure to give them both rests.

Patience is the key, give them time and as Robin mentions be sure to rest them and offer food between breeding.
