    Harlequin proven.....?
well I think so!! I have had a unproven harlequin female for almost 5 years now. I bought her from a french guy and liked the way she looked. this year she has for the first time laid eggs. I've paired her with a yellowbelly male and after the eggs started to hatch, 2 of the baby's are harlequins without a doubt and an extra bonus is what the yb gene has done with her offspring.

I think they are insanely gorgeous and to top it off it is a female and a male, so I'm well chuffed

curious about ur opinions on them

im a bit confused. are there two lines of harlequins? here in germany harlequiens are ballpythons that have almonst no side patterns.
they look way different than the harlequins im used to look at.

but they are beautiful for sure tho.

    congrats

As far as I know, there is no such thing as a "line" of harlequins.

In general, the term "harlequin" is given to a wild type ball python that has unbroken dorsal striping.

No matter what the name, those babies look incredible, I can't wait to see how they develop. Keep us posted on this project!

(if something new genetically does prove out, I'd suggest calling it something other than "harlequin")

I think that male is super hot. I would seriously buy one of those, never seen anything like it.

Those babies are HOT :D Whatever you've got there, it apparently works really well with the yellowbelly gene ...

I have a male "harlequin-type," but he doesn't really look much like your girl. I did get babies from him this year, with no harlequins out of four eggs.

My guy does have a very distinct belly/side pattern which was the reason I was hoping he'd be genetic in the first place ... Any chance of a belly shot of your female? :P

    Wow, really nice looking babies.
The males coloring, especially around the head, is awesome.

I agree w/ others, the male looks super hot! Lucky you to have a pair of those. :) It reminds me of a superstripe w/o much of a change in color. :gj:
