Got a Picture of the Normal Female Breeder I'm Buying
The breeder sent me a pic of the female normal I want to buy. She's 1365g, hatch date 7/08. I plan on going to see her hopefully this weekend. (Can't bring her home until my rack comes) The pic isn't the greatest, I'm sure it doesn't give her justice, but the breeder said she has cool markings and nice golds on the sides. I would consider her a "busy" looking normal. Like I said, I haven't seen her in person myself. What do you guys think? Considering she's a normal. I'll try to get some good pics when I go put the money down.

I do not own rights to these pictures. These pictures belong to Deb of Deb's Exotics.

That is a very interesting normal to say the least. Correct me if I am wrong but I kinda see scars in a couple places... or am I just seeing things?

Up and down her spine, and on her sides...

    The dark lines and splotches.

Looks like scarring to me too. Along her backbone. The dark brown strip going down her body. :(

I hope it's just the picture though and she's not really all scarred up :( But... it probably is scarring.

Post the pictures you get from her when you can.

Those couldn't just be markings or result of a bad picture? Ughhh, I wish I got better pictures.

I knew a 1365g female for $80 before breeding season was too good to be true...

I wouldn't worry about it tonight.
Just wait for the pictures and post 'em and we'll see what's up.

Aside from the possible scarring, she does look pretty cool for a normal.

Agreed, She is a pretty cool looking normal aside from the scaring. As long as she is eating well and in good health like the seller is claiming I see no reason to not purchase her. Some breeders will sell an animal a little cheaper if it has scars . Wait for the pictures and post them here :)

I will post the pics. Although if she is all scarred up, I'm not sure I'll take her  I think I want a normal thats lighter with more blushing.

Well don't buy her if she's not "the one". When you find the snake that you just have to have...you'll know.

If you have something dark to breed to her she might make some killer black pastels or ....

Emailed the breeder and told her I'm gonna pass on the normal, I didn't even wait for the second pictures. She really just wasn't up to my breeding standards when it comes to normals, I'm just being desperate. I want to produce animals that are beautiful that I like and that buyers will like, not just animals I produced because the mom was real cheap. I'm happy to say though, I've been emailing Brian Gundy in California and will most likely be purchasing one of his gold blush normal females. His normals have insanely high contrast and will look great bred to my pastel and the mojave I'll be getting next year. I would also like to say, he's a great person to deal with so far.

I'll post pictures as soon as the deal is sealed, but for now, check out his website or youtube videos. IMO, I've never seen hotter normals.

    (Good example of his normals)

Glad to hear you're not being rushy, and taking the time to find a perfect snake... the one pictured above is pretty cool, but if it's not what you're looking for don't get her! I almost made the same mistake last year, and a few people here talked me out of it. One poster actually ended up selling me a beautiful girl, who made me some gorgeous babies - my Mojave clutch that's hatching now. ;)

Good choice on Brian Gundy, as I've met him & his snakes, and he's a great guy. I held his MONSTER red-tail boa at the San Mateo show, and that thing was ridiculously heavy... she's super sweet, though. :) I don't think you can go wrong with his snakes!

Lola, the hatchlings in the video look exactly like the one he's possibly selling me. And yeah, he seems like he's a great guy! Very prompt about emailing me back and seems very knowledgable.

My Normal male has minor scarring, just one little area. im pretty sure that was result in a bad shed, when i had first got him I didnt have my humidity right. If its a breeder you shouldnt worry, scars arent genetic :P

Yeah but like I said, she's just not up to my breeding standards. Its not the scarring that makes me not want her.

Firstoff as a breeder, I would be upfront with a potential customer if there were ANY cosmetic issues with the animal I was selling, second Gundy is a legend. Just take things slow when making new purchases unless you come across something spectacular, do alot of shopping around. Many morphs in my collection have taken months if not a year or more to find exactly what I'm looking for. If your intentions are breeding, do you have plans for these animals when/if you go off to college? There are many many factors to consider with breeding, its a totally dif world and can be a very expensive venture.

I agree, dont rush into any purchases (not just normals). I did an impulse buy on a normal that was darker than I'd like to see. She has a cool pattern, but man she has a pissy attitude when you open the tub. Once you pick her up she's fine, but until then, better watch it LOL. I don't necessarily regret it, but it's definitely best to take your time and find "The One". I found another that I'm buying from David Green that is absolutely to die for.

Good luck with your purchase and definitely post pics when you find and get her! :)
