    Anybody on IE?
I've got some reported issues on Internet Explorer.

If you're on IE6, 7, 8 - can you please try to reproduce any of those issues?

One big issue that needs to be addressed is on IE7 - users can't post new threads. So, if you're on IE7, can you please test creating a new thread and let me know if you're successful?

    Thanks!

I agree, but the forum owners need to make sure that IE works for the um... well... basic computer users :P

I just posted a test thread(in BP breeding because I'm a doofus) and it worked great. Umm... could one of you mod types folks go delete it now? LOL.

Or Chrome. Or Safari. All those are undeniably superior - however, some folks are on work computers and they aren't allowed to download and install any other browser, and are stuck with IE.

So I gotta make it work

I'm one of those poor sods on IE7 at work. I take lunch at my desk and I need it to work. ITG won't support anything else.

Logged in with IE8 and posted a thread with no issues. Unfortunately, version 7 was upgraded on all our machines, so I can't try that one out.

There are other users in chat that state they can't post new threads either - hope we get this fixed!

I have 7 and I cannot make a new thread. I also have another problem, if I may hijack the thread...
    Am I doing something wrong?
When I click "New Posts", I should be seeing this:
    http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._1451061_n.jpg

    But instead, I see this:
    http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._3475777_n.jpg

I have also noticed that it is giving me only the option to post in the quick reply box, and no preview post option.

Thank you for the screenshots - I get exactly the same thing when clicking new posts in IE7 as well. In fact, all errors are identical in IE7.

May sound dumb but the post thread button could be cached and is trying to connect to the old site. I know I had a problem where mine was bookmarked with the old URL and had to remove it and delete past the end of .com.

Firefox doesn't fix all either, when you work in IT you'll realize how much actually doesn't work in firefox. For everday users, yea sure.. Just sayin'!

You're right, all browsers have their downfalls. In my opinion however, Firefox is superior to IE.

K, I made an adjustment to our portal plugin (that's what I believe is causing users to not be able to post a new thread), so if you're on Internet explorer 7, please try to post a new thread somewhere, and let me know of you can.

Still looking into all the wonky display issues as well.

Sorry guys, I didn't think there were THAT many issues with IE. I thought they had all been worked out now by the vB team

    Hey everyone,

I adjusted some CSS and think I've somewhat solved the issue on IE7 showing a ton of white space.

If you had troubles with the search being really wonky, can you please give it a look now and see if the change I made has worked?

it's still not perfect - but from the test I did, it's much better.

Is anyone else receiving different pages at different widths? I can never get the page to fit onto my screen, but different pages are at different widths. No reason for this that I can tell. This usually was due to a picture being on the page, but not now. Regular text will be at different widths on different pages. Even going from page 1 to page 2 on a thread will have different widths. Just another quirk.

    IE 8.06

BTW, I'm now able to write a message without it going to the quick post. :D:D:D

Im on IE 8.0.6 and everything seems to be working for me. The only issue I am having, and I'm not sure if this is a browser issue or not, but I can't link photos from my Gallery into a thread because I can't seem to locate the URL, [IMG], HTML codes anymore.

I dont' think that's an IE issue...I've just noticed it myself and I'm on firefox. I've been poking around in the controls, and the option to display [IMG] tags for copying is turned on, but they're still not showing up. I'll keep poking around and also flag it for Nate to take a look at. That's an important feature for me, as well.

In the meantime...you can open up the image you'd like to display and right click on it, then select "View image info"...copy the location of the image that pops up in a new window...then place that between the [IMG] tags yourself. Not as quick or efficient, but at least you can still post your own pics.

yes that's a bug that is in the photo gallery. If anything, I will add the code myself to generate those IMG tags this afternoon.
