Funny!
lol i have never seen this before and i thougt it was kinda funny. well i fed my baby bp today and at first she refused so i waited about an hour and tried feeding again and i thought she was going to refuse so i just held the mouse( it was a fuzzie) hanging there and out of nowhere she struck and coiled it and was trying to kill it. so i left her alone and 10 mins later i come back and she is in the same postition and i was like what the heck is taking so long. and i saw the mouse was still moving so i left again and 15 mins later she was still in the same position and the mouse was still alive. i was like this little guy is a trooper. so i sat there and watched her and she finally let go 5 mins later and the mouse was bleeding everywhere and guts were coming out the back end and it was sqeuling and was still alive so i watched a little longer and my snake just ate starting from the back ened and i watched her swallow it alive and it was squealing the whole time.

Re: Funny!
whats the funniest thing you have encountered with your snakes?

Re: Funny!
Mine is 11 years old, so he's seasoned at it. I've never seen anything extraordinarily funny, but he did do something interesting yesterday when I fed him. Most of the time he strikes and constricts. Yesterday he just struck and held it in his mouth without constricting. The mouse died after a few seconds.

Re: Funny!
This happened because Fuzzy Mice are too small for balls!
Next time feed the appropriate sized meal so the snake will be able to constrict and kill it.

Re: Funny!
I feed him full size mice, but for some reason he just decided to strike and hold..

Agreed, fuzzy mice are for starting hatchlings that have never eaten.
No always, but most of the time when they eat backwards it's too small of a prey item ;)

Re: Funny!
I was waiting for something funny to happen in that story but it never did. Maybe next time.

Re: Funny!
the only store in town that will sell me live feeder mice didnt have any hoppers but he got some fuzzies so i bought two so she could eat both and i offered both but she refused the second one

Re: Funny!
Sometimes ball will not strike a prey item if they think its too small or too large!
