    Are these eggs good?
I got 10 eggs and one slug from my male Pewter to a Pin. This is only my second clutch. Just wondering if this mottling is normal. Should I expect it to get worse? It seems like the shells are slowly becoming more transparent.

I have not candled them yet, will do that tonight.

As long as they have veins they should be fine.. They can be pretty Fugly and still hatch

How long ago were they laid? They look a little wet to me but still alive. Did they look like that when they were laid?

Those spots are normal, just keep your temps and humidity constant and they should go full term. I suggest throwing that slug on the left out. It will mold up and could cause mold to grow onto the others.

Those spots are due to a calcium deficiency in the mother. They are as healthy as pure white, smooth as a babies bottom eggs.
    They're just ugly.
Also, rotten eggs or slugs will do ZERO damage to a healthy egg.

...they kindof look like potatos. :O

The thought of a fantasy world where snakes hatch out of potatos makes me suddenly feel this newfound appreciation for root vegetables. Go little snake-potatos, go!!! :D

    Re: Are these eggs good?
Ive had eggs come out perfectly white and smooth but spots later grow spots after about 30 days of incubation. But even with the spots, eggs hatch just fine. As for bad eggs killing good eggs, I have never even tried to incubate slugs but have seen this happen often with leopard gecko eggs. Moldy eggs tend to kill healthy eggs that are close to them.

25 days away? This thread was made 80+ days ago--there's no way you're 25 days away, if anything, you're 25 days late??

    Cheers,

How would a BP get a calcium deficiency? An unbalanced diet of too many boneless rats? I suppose calcium-deficient rats would do it, but I've never heard of that.

:hijackd: by shawnwithbite, the topic clutch should have hatched over 2 weeks ago, if all went well
