She regurgitated, when do i try feed again?
2 days after last feed, she regurgitated the mouse. Should i wait 1 week or 3 days or what?

I'm not exactly sure but I think your suppose to wait tell the BPs next feeding. But wait for other replies to see what other people have to say.

Give her a week to two to help her stomach get back in order. And you might want to have a fecal done.

It is usually recommended that you wait two weeks until you attempt to feed your snake again. You really should get a fecal done.

Re: She regurgitated, when do i try feed again?
    You don't.
More important than trying to shove more food into her face is to determine WHY she regurged.
Fix the problem and you won't have to worry about her puking up her meals anymore.
What is your husbandry like and please don't say it's "fine", healthy snakes whose husbandry requirements are met NEVER regurgitate.

I answered that question to you yesterday. I also emphatically suggested that you get a fecal test done for her - are you planning to do so?

Re: She regurgitated, when do i try feed again?
To add to this you MUST wait 2 weeks.

If you offer food too soon you will only cause another regurgitation to happen. Which is extremly hard on the snakes body.

After waiting 2 weeks offer a prey half the size you have been feeding. So if you were feeding small rats, you will offer a rat pup.

If the snake holds down the meal after 2 weeks rest, great now wait 2 more weeks and offer the same sized meal. If that one stays down then wait 7-10 days and offer same meal.

SLOW SLOW SLOW if you push it youll cause the snake to be prone to regurgitation as it ages and its a PITA. Ive dealt with many when dealing with BCC boas and the steps are the same with any snake as i just explained.

If she continues to regurgitate after all the rests between SMALL meals then you need to get some fecal testing done.

Please post a picture of your setup and very detailed info.

Re: She regurgitated, when do i try feed again?
It does sound like a parasite problem considering the regurge happened 2 days after feeding, only way to find out is have a fecal done as mentioned above. But I would suggest while you are waiting for your snake to produce a fecal sample, you run down the checklist of other things that may have caused it as well, like husbandry, stress and so on and eliminating them as possible causes.:snake:

My husbandry is in order. Temps are good, humidity is good, cleanings are done frequent and always fresh water. Ill take a fecal sample and see what they say.

    Hi,

That doesn't really qualify as good I'm afraid. :(

Try and get a cool end of 80-83f and a warm end of 90-93f as measured inside the hides at each end with digital thermometer.

I have been told by a breeder to keep those temps. Im pretty sure everybodys temps vary within a few degrees.

Yes they do but no one has that huge of a variance on thier cool side.

88 is absoutly too high for a cool side when they have a 90 hot side.

Maintain at 78-80 cool side and 88-92 warm side.

Re: She regurgitated, when do i try feed again?
I do believe that the too warm cool spot might be the tip of the husbandry iceberg here.
Sounds to me like the problem might be a husbandry and not a parasitic.
Care to elaborate more as to your 'in order' husbandry?
Anything more you can add to help us help your snake would be nice.

Most vets dont get results same day especially if they need to have it sent out.

Usually vets will prepare and examine a fecal float right at their own office, and shouldn't have to have it sent anywhere.

Re: She regurgitated, when do i try feed again?
So i got the results. No parasites! The problem he said why she regurged is the food i was feeding her was too big(took a hopper to show the size). I told him also what my temps are humidity etc and said everything is in an acceptable range. He said try feeding pinkys again and see what happens.

    Hi,

Maybe I missed this but what weight is your snake?

I know anything above a 35g ball python I'd start on fuzzies as a minimum and probably go straight to small hoppers ( these are all mice by the way ).

But sizes vary with supplier so it is a lot easier to go by either weight or a comparison picture so we can truly judge the sizes involved.

Never said your snake had parasites at all. I told you how to feed post regurgitation, its up to you if you want ot listen or not. If you feed too soon you will just cause more regurgitation, and youll be back on here asking for more why questions.

What ever the snake was eating you need to drop down a size for 2 months till its digestion is back on track.

Yes that is correct. But you must wait 2 weeks from the day it regurgitated before you feed. If you feed sooner you will end up with another regurge.

It shouldn't take longer than a half of an hour to get the results of a fecal back if they have their own lab.

Key here is IF they have their own lab. Which in turn means more than 1 day results

Are you implying that maybe a few of us are saying that your veterinarian (or most) could be wrong!; uneducated on ball pythons, or guesstimate care a whole lot?
Or that maybe a fair number of keepers here with PRACTICAL, real world experience could be more educated about ball pythons than a vet, whose vet school text book has about 45 pages in total dedicated to reptiles!?
    That's crazy talk!!

Way to show how much you care for your pet. You never gave the snake time to recoup any stomach flora once. Not even been a week and youve offered 2 meals.

If you dont want to take advice dont ask for it. IM DONE

So! Breeder dont own that snake anymore. If he advised you to offer food after a snake regurged in less than a week then hes a person id never buy from.
