Cantumbella is a locality in Angola---it is an angolan python--the first one I ever hatched---one of 7 beautiful babies hatched today.

Not a combo - a species unto itself.

Well then you would call it a "Catumbella Angolan" wouldn't you? And it would be in the General Python Section. Until Ben says otherwise my vote is for "Hybrid" which isn't a bad thing, that little bugger looks HOT.

I think he was being tongue in cheek! :gj:

A lot of people think angolans are ball hybrids because their heads are very similar in appearance.

That's because angolan heads are very similar in appearance to ball python heads.

Congrats Ben on your first Angolans. I have known through Stacey that you have had a pair but now to have a chance to see them in the store is great. I trust your holding back some and maybe some are going to the store/Daytona show?

Ah see I didn't catch that. I knew that they were their own thing but it isn't like hybrids don't exist. :P

and they are amazing! i wouldn't think it would be hard or bad to hybridize the two. since they are so closely related.

Hybrid snakes is a huge debate all of its own but there is a Hybrid Angolan Ball it was produced by Steve Rousiss and I believe that Kevin @ NERD has done it as well.
