Something went wrong ! **Graphic Pics**

6 eggs Clutch this season. 1 unfertile and 1 kinked baby def put a gray cloud over my head... i just took some pics of the kink pewter before i had to freeze it... i was only about to move its head and neck up to the 1st kink so....

p.s. 4 other babies came out and all are healthy and kink free... will post pics after 1st shed.

So sorry for your loss and having to do what needed to be done. Looks like if there wasn't a horrible kink at the base of its tail (by the vent) it might have gone on to live a good life as a pet.

Congratulations on the 4 healthy babies though.

Why do some balls become kinked? Is it because of line breeding?

Shame..he would have been a beaut too, these things happen :(

Some genetic traits cause kinking.

Incubation issues can sometimes cause abnormalities during in-egg development.

I'd say, it may be genetics occasionally, but it's usually developmental. The most common cause is a temperature spike or temperature abnormality during a crucial part of incubation. Other possible causes include a fungus or bacterial intrusion into the egg, or simple accident (as with many human developmental abnormalities).
