Disturbing snake video.

Just found this clip of fear factor were they put people into tubs with snakes. I found it very disturbing to watch how the snakes were being thrown around.

Makes me wanna SLAP the producers of the show :mad:

This is animal abuse in my book.

It's fear factor. There is no point, only ratings. Also.... rats bite...

I was thinking the same when i saw the rats, i thought someones toe could get ripped off, that girl was just throwing the snakes around...so wrong

yeah she was wrong an i thought at least one of the rats would have got ate but i guess the snakes wasn't hungry

Don't blame the contestents. Blame the show producers. And this is some other country's FF not ours. I watched a lot of fear factor and nothing was ever like that.

What I find more alarming is the way the contestants were squealing. Rats don't bite unless you give them reason to or you smell good (but I find they lick if you have something tastey on your skin), and snakes are the same way.

But yes, stupid the way the animals put all tossed in bins and dumped on contestants and then the contestants were allowed to throw them around.

You must have missed the snake bath episode... It was very similar to this, but I don't think there were rats, and I can't remember if they were thrown around like this.

There were a lot of "sit in this tub of 'insert animal the public fears here'" tests.

although i will admit that the girl throwing the snakes was wrong i do belive she was extremely freaked out and was not able to think "i'm just gonna gently get this snake off me and lightly drop it into the bin..."

and you'd be right too but im just saying...we gotta also notice how freaked out that girl was. i feel sorry for her AND the snakes...even though she agreed to do it.
and about the rats not being eaten i think i saw dividers between the animals...

This is all around dumb and pointless. People have fears, yeah, but in all honesty, you shouldn't go that far. Especially since it's with living creatures. Those snakes being thrown around got to me, I'm sure many of those snakes got broken ribs or damaged somehow.

The Philippine version is the same set-up except they put frogs in with the snakes and the person has to pick out the frog among all the snakes and put the frog in the bin. The frogs don't mind getting thrown out because they can "hop" onto the bin so it's a bit more "animal friendly".

A kitten being thrown around like that wouldn't be bad either - they always land on their feet.

I'm snake phobic but I feel good to realize that I can do that challenge. That means, I have grown in my knowledge and awareness of the snake species that I don't fear them as much anymore.... especially after getting bit for the first time by a hatchling!

agreed with tiffany - this is really sucky to watch... my spider fell from my lap and i was so upset with myself.. i was sitting down close to the floor but i was still worried sick that he could have been hurt... he just balled up and i checked to see if he was okay, and he's fine.. still felt like crap.. poor snakes :tears:

Whats wrong is they purposely put an animal in harms way for ratings! Its not fair!

That is exactly what I was thinking. If they had someone in a tub full of puppies or kittens and were throwing them around, people would be having heart attacks.

Thank you for sharing the video. I completely understand how freaked out the contestants were which is the whole fear factor part of it and I truly believe if it was me that was afraid and I was that freaked out I would probably have zero compassion for the snakes because the adrenaline would kick in more than normal thought. Shame on the dumb show that decided the ratings were more important than the care of the animals. I truly cringed with each snake that was tossed. Like someone earlier mentioned in this post about a fallen snake, well I had a hatchling milksnake, (those crazy lil suckers ) and he flung himself right out of my hands from a chair and I was so worried for days that he might be seriously injured. Now I know that he was a baby compared to these adult snakes, but still, they could have been hurt and damaged for life. What a crappy show, how very unfortunate :mad:
