    Please help!!!!!!
ok this morning i woke up due to my pastel coughing it was loud and scary she was even all scrunched up i jumped up and kinda startled her and turned on a heat light for her but i checked her cage and she did defecate and my brother said maybe she was having a hard time at that but that seems awkward right now tho she is roaming her tank and seems fine but im not sure i cant have this snake die on me...my heart would be broken

should i feed her since this has happened.... its time

I'm new to this forum, so I'd wait for a more experienced snake person to confirm this, BUT...
That sounds to me like a respiratory infection. Check her nose for bubbles, or loose mucus dribbling out. Does she have any? If not, I believe she could still have an RI.
I don't think snakes really die from RI's, at least not when they receive the proper care. Are there any local exotic vets around? She may need antibiotics.
I wouldn't worry too bad--it won't help. Don't work yourself into a frenzy, just keep an eye on her, ok? :) Update whenever you can about my questions. It may help narrow down her diagnoses.

Oh, also, one more thing--check her mouth for mucus too if you can. I'm not exactly sure how you do that. :(
Also, how are your tank temperatures, and the humidity? Is she sitting around with her mouth open often, if ever? Any stool changes regarding consistency, frequency, etc. ? What about diet--is she eating normally? Has she lost weight? Just trying to think of anything that might help.

If she just defecated, it might have been farting you heard. I swear, it always sounds like they're dying and there's gonna be crap all over the place but they're always curled demurely in a corner when finished.

If she's otherwise acting okay, I wouldn't sweat it.

Hmm. Doesn't sound like there's much to worry about, at least not yet. Shadera may be right. :) (hopefully, anyway!)
Keep an eye on her nose and mouth for mucus, and, of course, a repeat of those noises.
Good luck, I think she'll be alright.

When they fart and blow diarrhea they open their mouths, it looks kind of horrifying, lol, but I'd bet that's what happened.
They can be rather LOUD when they do this :P

Mine did the same thing. Roaring loud fart that I swear is louder than anything that has left me and she had her mouth open like she was roaring at the time. Freaked me out and i was worried about her. but she's been fine since then and has eaten another 4 times so no problems at all

Ok here goes, it's kind of tricky to check the mouth for the upper respiratory infection but you can tell by looking in their mouth if they have one. Use a tongue depressor or something flat and non sharp. open the snakes mouth you are going to be looking at the roof of the snakes mouth at the outer part of the top jaw towards the back. if you see wat looks like mucousy bubbly icky looking area then it's most likely wats going on. Hope this helps. If you don't see anything wrong in the mouth, then the farting, yes i've also heard of this, it's really gross and watch out cause they can really let loose and crap everywhere too . Hope :snake: is better. Hope I helped. And if all else fails and you are still unsure, don't leave it to chance take the baby in!!!
