My male ball python Ozzy, about 4-5 feet long, finally did a strike-and-coil!

He is fed two adult frozen/thawed mice, and he usually just drags them into his hide. Not today! he did a strike-and-coil to both, and it was so strong, I almost had a heart attack! I am so proud of him, it's his first time to strike and coil. ;)

I know, I'm a dork, most snakes DO strike and coil, but this was his first time, and I am very happy and excited about it.

Any reason you're not feeding him small rats? He should easily be able to handle a small rat.

Now I want to see him dragging mice away! Can you video him doing it?

What would he do if you fed him live, I wonder?

If I find my camera, I sure will!

And he's afraid of live, but I think he's getting bigger and badder?

Mine flip/flop between doing it and not. I guess it's how hard I have a hold on the rat or something.

My BRB the other night took a second fuzzy and hit it full open mouthed and got most of the head in on the one strike and just started to gobble it down. Wish I got that on camera.

Ha ha, thanks! He actually took down three more mice, he kept on roaming, and he wouldn't settle down. He's in his hide digesting. I think I'll try him on small rats, I really hope he takes it, it would be so much easier!

Haha, yeah I just made a post about how my new Sand Boa took its first meal from me, lol.

My Ball eats F/T medium rats, funny part is he acts like he is scared to death of them if you try to get him to strike it using tongs or something to wiggle it, he will run away from it, I have to just lay it in there and wait for him to get it on his own. I should of named him McNugget...the big chicken :D
