Pit Boss On animal planet!!!
Im watching it right now this is my first time seeing it but it seems pretty cool to me. I guess its about trying to keep up a rescue, and saving pitbulls, while trying to get money to run it, and they are all uh... vertically challenged?
Either way, its got lotsa pit bulls so i like it. :D

Re: Pit Boss On animal planet!!!
They are all dwarfs. Nothing politically incorrect about calling them that - they call themselves that on the show. This is the second season - one of my favorite shows, btw.

Re: Pit Boss On animal planet!!!
I can't stand that show...they hardly do that much, they are more worried about their acting careers than anything else. As a person who used to own pitty type dogs, they don't give out any meaningful information about the breed, such as...there actually is no such thing as a "pitbull". I've seen too many episodes where they try to take matters into their owns hands, and mess up big time. Instead of spending a couple grand on themselves and on one dog, they should be trying to save money so they can build a couple kennels of their own, that way when they rescue dogs, they won't just be pawning them off on other rescues who are already at maximum capacity.
They should also be spreading the myths about pitty type dogs and trying to break the stereotypes, instead, they just keep adding to them.

It is actually one of my favorite shows too. I always hear them call themselves little people, and think that is the nicest way to go about it. Either way, I do think it is a good show, and I like what they do.

I agree that they dont do much but they show pitbulls in a good light most of the time. Ive only seen two episodes though. I agree about there being to much other crap about their acting and other stuff. its called PIT BOSS and its like half the show or less actually is about pits...
and...? there is such thing as a pit bull?
american pitbull terrier?...

Re: Pit Boss On animal planet!!!
But an american pitbull terrier is not a "pitbull"
There are actually three breeds of "pitbull".
There is no such thing as just a pitbull. A "pitbull" is simply a slang term started by the media and stereotypes.
If they were to focus way more on the dogs and actually helping them, educating the public, and teaching people that socialization and training are key, I might like the show a little more.

Re: Pit Boss On animal planet!!!
I'm on the fence with this show because of Shorty's attitude. I really don't like how he treats his staff. I'm really suprized they have all stuck around for two seasons. I sure wouldn't have.

Re: Pit Boss On animal planet!!!
It's hollywood....it's all bull. Reality tv is not reality...it's about money and ratings, and Animal Planet is not above using little people and pits to try and generate lots of both.
I think they should stop beating around the bush and get right to it. Give us what we want. A show about a little person and their pit getting dropped off in the middle of the forest to survive for a week, while at the same time building a custom chopper...:gj: Now that's entertainment!!!

I agree. In my opinion, Shorty is a pile of trash not worthy of air time. (Then again, look at all reality tv stars)
His employees are of subpar intelligence, and as stated, it seems like all they do is pickup a few dogs here and there and pawn them off on others.
That said....I shamefully watch that show a few times a week.

I tried watching the premier... It was so ridiculous I shut it off less than half way through.

Re: Pit Boss On animal planet!!!
I absolutely despise the way that man says pitbull... With a passion.

Re: Pit Boss On animal planet!!!
I like the show, but it would be a lot better if they focused more on the dogs and less on the staff. I wish the structure was more like those animal cops shows (where they spend more time showing what actually happened) than like Flavor of Love (where they interview the "stars" every minute or so).
Their methods may not be the best, but they are saving dogs nonetheless, and I respect that.

I agree.
They could do alot more than pick up dogs and send them to fosters though. I see that theyre trying to help but still... Its supposed to be a rescue. All they do is give the dogs to someone else to find a home for usually.
They could at least house some dogs. Also the one i saw today part of it (havent finished yet) he is helping out YaKings pit that was roaming the streets. It really seems like he was fighting it but idk... They helped it out anyway. He didnt want to neuter it because he thought he could get money for the puppies... When he cant even afford to feed the dog. Also im sure most of the puppies would just be unwanted and add to the overpopulation they already have.

I just thought it was ridiculous how when it first came out he was like "I'm a midget AND and ex con."

Re: Pit Boss On animal planet!!!
As a owner of 2 APBT's I have mixed feelings on what "shorty" is doing. I think that it is really good that hes trying to do what he can to help these dogs, I mean he can't take in ever single APBT in LA that needs a home no one can. Atleast he is trying to help with the resources that are available to him. Then the show takes a turn sometimes and focuses on the acting, I don't know if yall have seen this but they are all PAINFULLY BAD ACTORS, like I get embarrassed for them and im just watching. It also kind of frustrates me when he trys to act "hard" Im just like come on man really? haha. I think the show is deffinately bad but I do applaud anyone trying there best to help these amazing dogs, unfortunately they need all the help they can get :tears:

The sad truth is, the bully breeds have such a bad rep, instead of the stupid owners who have no idea what a bully dog is like, only that owning one either makes them "cool" or they want to make money off the dogs. Go look at the shelters.......they are FULL of bullies and bully mixes......they are 10 times more likely to be put down with no chance of adoption just because of their breed. SO, if someone is trying to help them, that's great. I haven't seen the show, so I can't rate how they're doing in their representation. I can tell you as a multiple bully breed owner, I have NEVER had such a smart, loyal, sweet animal in my life. One of mine even took over a litter of kittens from a stray, and then cried and searched for them for 3 days when they all got good homes. They are stubborn and hardheaded...strong-willed dogs who arent' for everyone, but if you can be the alpha, ALL the time, they are amazing:).
