    Mice eating eachother..!
I walked into the garage(which is heated) where my last two female mice are. I haven't been breeding, just keeping about 4-5 females on hand in a 10 gallon tank with food, water, wheel, bedding, and the plastic igloo houses.

I went out to say hi today and give them some food...and one...was eating the other one!!! I was just like..oh my gosh!!! I didn't really know whether or not the other one had died from some illness or what, but the cannibal mouse was killed with a pellet gun to the skull because I don't know if they were both sick or what, but I don't want to risk anything becauase I have 4 pet rats.

Does this happen often?? Why would this happen!? I feed them lab blocks everyday, along with fruits and veggies...Are mice just cannibals!?

I'm thinking back and we had one or two "escape" I'm really hoping I'm not going to find dead little mouse bodies under their bedding!

I topped it off last night and it was working fine, I always use my finger to make sure water is coming out..I saw them drinking out of it last night...T_T They get a full bowl of lab blocks and other things like fruits and veggies and whole wheat cereals every morning..I really don't want this happening again when I got to get a couple mice soon....

They may have fought or that one may have died. You have to be there to see it happen. Sometimes the mouse die of heat and another will eat it. Or there is a scuffle that leads to death...

I'm just going to assume it was probably sick, it did look a little rough around the edges a couple days ago.

you might have farted up the street and mouse thought it was a gun shot and a war broke out. Mice are evil little creatures that make as much sense as the comment for the reason why they would do it. I have seen mice you could easily handle raise up multiple litters and then a female kill everything in the cage with it, no apparent reason as to why.

They do that if there are too many of the same sex in the same cage, also they will canibalise if one is sick.

Yeah I think one or both were sick, as they were the only two mice in a 10 gallon.

I gave one of my friends 2 mice and one of them ate the other. I told her to give them some protein from time to time, but she never listened.

lol They'd get left overs from roasts, etc, pieces of hot dog and chicken a couple times a week...so I don't think it was a dietary issue.

I found one of the escapees!!! Man mice are hard to catch in a cluttered garage! And this thing is mean too! It's like being out of a cage for a couple weeks sent him back into the wild!!

i just had one being chewed on last night. only 5 mice in 10 gallon checked everything and the water bottle was plugged i hit the Lil ball 6 or 7 times no water came out so i took it out gave it a good squeeze and finally water squirted out. so since it took having to squeeze it to get water out cleaned it out with boiling water and a Lil bleach and it's worked fine since

mouse didn't look that bad at first looked like a cut kind off but took him out and checked he has a section of fur bout 1/2"x1' they chewed on fur was still connected but could literally flip it over so had to smack him in back of the head and kill him didn't want to take a chance of him getting some kind of disease

might want to check the water bottle cause once i put mine back in after cleaning mine went nuts to point they were fighting for who was going to drink first

I find that they start to go feral after 2-3 days even in the house.
After 5-6 days they are pretty much wild.

Yeah I usually give them attention when I have them so they stay nice...this one went rabid haha!

I did check the water bottle, it worked just fine, it was brand new so that makes sense, I check all my animals water bottles when i go to refill them, I have 4 pet rats.
