I haven't a clue, but are they even allowed to do such a thing?

Well...If you can't beat em', join em'. To be honest, I don't think it would hurt them.

Re: Neighbors Fire...
It's really no more dangerous for them than it is for you.

Re: Neighbors Fire...
If you can't make them stop and you are really bothered by it, do what I did.
Go to wal-mart and buy those indoor window insulation kits and install them. They seal gaps around your windows when installed right, and greatly cut the smell down. I used to have neighbors just like that.

Re: Neighbors Fire...
It wont hurt them. If my nieghbor was doing that to us I would get even and do it to them but be sure to do it on a day the wind is in their direction. Plus start mine with race fuel for the big bang to get their attention. LOL What goes around comes around.

They are probaly not aware that its bothering you unless you tell them! Also in my city, you are not allowed open fires within city limits! You may want to check your local by laws!

Re: Neighbors Fire...
Depends where you are, time of year, what you are burning, and if you have a proper setup. Each one of these, if wrong, could get you in major trouble, but if they have 1. Fire Pit 2. Dry wood/leaves in some areas 3. the area isnt dry enough for a fire to be a major risk 4. Within city/town ordnance for where they can burn, then yeah, nothing the authorities can do.

Re: Neighbors Fire...
Im sorry to have to differ here.
But the smell of smoke scares the life out of any wild animals.
We have a fireplace in the house and my snakes are housed in the room the furthest from it.
When there is even a slight smoke smell in the room, the Balls will go straight into their hides.
I guess this is a natural reaction.
But i have also seen smokers who raised their snakes from young in a smokey environment, without this issue.
I guess its all about conditioning.

Re: Neighbors Fire...
many counties/districts regulate even banned residents from having "private" fires due to the liability issues and potential risks involved.
contact your city hall and ask them for the fire codes and regulations within your residential area....you should find it there.
if it is indeed forbidden all you need to do is make a phone call to your city hall and they will dispatch an officer to the scene.
good luck.
