    feeding multiple mice?
Don't know what category this belongs in but what do you guys and gals do that feed your balls mice. Obviously an adult mouse isn't big enough for an adult ball so whats the procedure for feeding multiple mice to a ball python? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Feeding multiples can be a PIA, your better off feeding one appropriate size prey item

true but a gf that won't allow breeding of rats is more of a PIA than feeding 2 or more mice

Which I have and my balls don't want its been a month long struggle and they still aren't making the switch and its tough to bulk up a breeder that won't eat

I feed multiple rats quite often, 1500 gram black pastel female ate 3 large weanlings last night, bam, bam, and them BAMM.
Pain? Maybe if you have 50-100 snakes, lol.
I have 20 snakes and I see no issues with feeding multiples.

my girl eats 2 adult (prekilled) mice every week, no problem, one after the other. never had a problem and she's never refused food since i've had her! i've heard some say it stresses them out, but i'd say if they eat multiples without showing signs of stress, feed em

And you just pre kill both and throw both in at one time? And you just co2 to pre kill them?

azmodane-if you were talking to me....

I prekill one and give it to her (shake it in her cage for movement) wait till she finishes eating it, then kill the other (and repeat the "shaking" thing...) She strikes and constricts them for a few minutes as if they were alive before she eats them.

I don't like the idea of suffocating them, (many on this forum have different opinions on humane ways to kill mice,) I prefer the quick-blow-to-the-head way so they don't know it's coming and it's quick-so no, I don't use CO2 esp since I'm prekilling in "bulk".

That would be the best reason to invest in co2 :rolleye2:

I have a black pastel that has grown increasingly picky. First she ate f/t although not reliably. Then she absolutely would not touch anything but live and now it has to be live mice apparently. I gave up fighting it and have fed her as many as three in one day with no issues.

    Re: feeding multiple mice?
i use to multi feed my snakes when they before i was advised to give bigger prey from there breeder. but got a bigger burm that i still multi feed only cause i aint going to spend 20 bucks on a pet shop rabbit every week and no sense to breed rabbits just for 1 burm

they are were neos (now almost a year old green tree pythons) and around the same age blood python) but when i switched to larger prey i noticed an increase in shedding also was every couple months now since switching to larger prey they are shedding monthly and packing on allot more weight

thing I've done for my blood python when the pet shop aint got the size of rat she needs is give her a pregnant female mouse tons more for her to digest

i prekill all food unless it's a pinky or chubby (smack in the back of the head

I feed live mice to my small collection. I toss in one mouse, wait about 5 or 6 minutes, make sure they've killed and eaten the first one and toss in the second mouse. no stress, no issues. If anyone refuses their second mouse I take it out and either put it into a holding bin until next feeding day or feed if off to any of my females. Hope that helps you.
