i think its a cinny

i just hatched a clutch from a pewter x normal. and i studied the hunters guide and i think she is a cinny what yall think.

has the black eye.

if you look at the morph guide and most of it matches up.

The squiggles make me think of a black pastel, but definitely a cinny if you know that was used to make your pewter.

Sure doesn't look normal to me :P

I agree, looks alot more like a black pastel than a cinny.

black pastel and a nice one

I would say black pastel because of the normal looking ocular stripe. Could be a cinny though but my cinnies have cinnamon oculars. Definitely one or the other in my eyes.

ok i should of put a black pastel in the poll i did not know i could get a black pastel from this pairing. so with that in mind what can i get from a black pastel?

Photos of your pewter?

I'd bet it is a black pewter and not a cinny pewter, but that's a guess without pics :)

The thing is that I think it's possible she is a cinny, she just looks a lot more like a black pastel. Both make pretty much the same combos, with slight variance in appearances- for example you can make pewters using black pastels or cinnys, both have similar supers (I believe one is typically, but not always, more brown looking than black)

It sure looks similar to a black pastel. It is weird you would get a black pastel out of a pewter, unless the pewter's sire/dam had a mistaken identity. That could easily happen, some people might not notice, or they are traders and don't really care to know what morph it is as long as they make money.

I'm not totally sold on the black pastel and the cinny being two different morphs. I could easily see them being two different lines of the same morph. I guess if you sell it, just explain that it "should" be a cinny, but could be a black pastel because of mistaken identity in the past.

Nope, its not a cinny.. The cinnamons do not have the bright yellow face stripes. They are more of a brownish color. Plus the top of the head is the color of cinnamon.

This is a cinnamon.
See the head color and the color of the stripes along the sides of her face? They are almost the same color as the head, making it very hard to see them.

Even on this baby, the head stripes are not yellow. Just lighter than the adults head stripes. The head color and stripes is the easiest way to tell black pastels from cinnys.

I say black pastel as well. I'm not seeing the light brown faded head and the pattern shouts black pastel:gj:
