What color are his eyes? The pic looks like hes in shed but if you can tell pastels have green eyes. But he looks like a normal to me.

Hard to tell because it's in shed, but I'd say yes it's a pastel. Pastels tend to dirty up as they grow. Post a pic after it sheds. I could be wrong, but the color on it's sides says pastel to me.

I agree, you'll be able to tell much better after it sheds. On a side note, your pastel looks very skinny. Is he eating okay?

Re: pastel or normal
I suspect that is a pastel, the height of the light colored sides says pastel to me (should be yellow when he sheds out).

He could go either way but if he is a pastel he is probably a fairly browned out guy judging by his color in full blue.

I also say Pastel, but you should know when he sheds out. I second the comment about the baby pastel. He looks incredibly skinny.

I would say it is a darker pastel in shed but still a pastel.

Definitely up that baby's prey size. Pinkies are far too small.

Re: pastel or normal
looks like a normal to me. the sides are pastel like but i still think its a normal. no faded head and (as much as i can see) no white lips. but the most importend is the eyes- as said before pastels have green eyes. on that pic i cant judge if he has...

has the seller breed it before- if yes u should have a look on his babies. how much does he want for her?

cant put my hand in fire for it, but i would say normal...

100% guaranteed.
As for the anorexic baby; feed that thing something larger than a pinky anything and every 4-5 days.

I couldn't agree more. Give that baby a mouse hopper at least. I have some 2 month old hatchlings and they each get one adult mouse every 5 days, and still act hungry.

It looks pastel to me too, just really browned out. Wait for him to shed, he might suprise you. What does his belly look like? Clean white all the way down the middle? It's a good way to tell.

It looks like I may be in the minority but I see nothing that looks Pastel to me.

For those that answered 100% Pastel without seeing the animal in person or confirming the eye colour are jumping the gun and giving what could be misleading info.

Wait till he sheds and confirm eye colour, then you will have your answer.

Just for reference here is one of my male adult Pastels.

Also here is a light sided Normal

I know there are differences in all morphs but I just don't see any Pastel in the OP's pic.

Re: pastel or normal
What? The first pic is no way a pastel? I'm surprised with how many said it was lol. Not a chance man, sorry. Even when mine is in the deepest of his shed he never looks normal...I would contact that guy and get your money back. There should be yellow in the color of animal whether its in shed or not. I would bet money that thats a normal.

I have to agree. Even a browned out, in shed pastel would still look different than a normal in shed. Im saying normal for now, but none of us can be certain until it sheds.

My guess is when that animal sheds it will show more color. That animal has all the Pastel looks to it besides color(blushing, head blushing and high white on the sides). It is not the best example and thats for sure. My guess is it will look super washed out in color post shed.

Re: pastel or normal
I have seen quite a few really terrible pastels that look normal. Look at how bright her eye stripe is. And, as mentioned before, high white, blushing.

I still say give us a belly shot.

Re: pastel or normal
I would need to see the animal after it shed. The belly isn't exactly right, and in shed, I'd be hard pressed to call it a pastel.

Well the second group of pics I can now see what others noticed in the first group.

Again though, once he sheds and you see the eyes you can be 100%.

I personally have 6 Pastels. I know it is not a lot, but, I'm 100% positive that is a browned out Pastel in shed. If I am wrong, I will put my foot in mouth publicly.

I guess I'm spoiled with mine being so yellow to begin with. Additionally - none of mine have any black in the side scutes on the belly. The bellies on mine are completely white on all the belly scales.

The problem I think people were having was due to the color not being there in the first pics. The blushing and other Pastel traits were visible the whole time though. BTW, thanks for coming to the dark side Jerry!

I agree Robin, mine are good looking also(clear bellies and all). I was reffering to noticing the Pastel blushing and such.

LOL, your welcome :P

Pastels are one of my favorite morphs but one I'm probably the most picky about, which is why I have none in my collection ATM

A dark browned out pastel is something I wouldn't breed, but that's just me.

I'm confused...Isn't brown a shade of pastel colors....or was it pink? Oh hell, I forgot!

Extremely browned out pastels like that are not uncommon, you just don't see photos of them posted very often because we tend to show off our prettiest snakes.
