Pastel Special adult

I get excited about all the pics of new hatchlings this time of year, but I wanted to share a pic of the pastel special (het crystal) female that I picked up from Tom Baker last year.

She has gorgeous yellow color with amazing blushing. She eats whenever offered and is now tipping the scales at 1175 grams.

What do you think I should breed to her?

Alice, She looks AWFUL PURDY!!! When she is ready you might consider sending her out to Cali -- I have a Caramel Mojave that would be perfect for her. ;)

If you keep her with you I would put any of your SUPERIOR :bow: Butter combos on her. Really can't go wrong that girl. :gj:

Killer Queen, Mystic Potion, or Champagne YB...or maybe all 3 and hope for the best.

Jigsaw or mojave spider..question though..will the special react with the lesser/butter the way it does with mojave?

I have a male pastel of an unknown linage that looks just like her in every way. Do you happen to know what line your pastel is? I plan on putting him to my new Jungle Woma and my Pinstripe girls when they are up to size.

She looks great Alice! She would go great with our Champagne Mojave boy! :rolleyes:

Pastel Super Mojo for sure.


Or even a Super Pastel Mojo.

So you are the lucky lady that picked up that gem. She is an awesome looking specimen. Good luck whatever you breed her to! I have a soft spot for the hypo gene....sooo...hypo super mojave is my recommendation.

Maybe Tom can chime in here. I don't know what line of pastel he used to breed to his crystal to make this beauty.

I was thinking about putting our killer queen bee made from our butter to her but I need to really get an answer to the question about how butter/lessers interact with specials before I jump. I have a very nice pastel super mojave male that would do the job, or a YB champagne male or a mystic male, or a special male . . . . it's been alot of hard work but I am blessed to have so many fine choices.

Any other ideas you all?

I don't remember reading of a lesser to Baker line special combo yet. Apperently the BHB "crystal" was a combo of lesser and a seperate line assumed to be special because the combo looked like mojave with Baker special. However, Marshall Van Thorre has produced a very crystal looking baby from his own line of assumed special with mojave but with his line the combo with lesser is white. So if Marshall's line of special is genetically the same as Tom's original special it might be that lesser and special is white. But if Tom’s line of special is the same as BHB’s line then maybe the lesser special combo looks a lot like the mojave special combo.

AGREED! she'd make gorgeous Super Pastaves :D

Bakers line has not been done with a Lesser yet....just as BHB's has not been done with a Mojave yet.

Alice -- I have been doing a few Special x Butter pairings this year -- no ovulations yet. :mad: I will post when I get something. :D I am not expecting a BEL from the combo. I would NOT be surprised if the combo had a smidge less color and pattern because of replacing the Mojave gene with the Butter. Mojaves seem to carry more contrast and pattern in other combos than do Butters. I do think there will be some pattern and color -- not white -- I hope. :rolleyes::confused:

She's a beaut!! if I had a pastel special I would pair it with a cinny/mojave or epic pastave...;)

Wow! That female truly is gorgeous! I would go KillerQueenBee, but then again the Butter Crystal has not been done yet, so who knows what will happen! Not too bad of a problem to have though!:)

I also believe BHB has more than likely sold a few Het Crystals. I did hear of a price list where he had a few morphs that were Het Crystals. Not 100% positive since I didnt see the price list myself.

If you're still taking suggestions, I'd stay away from other BEL-complex traits.

Pair her up with a pattern morph, perhaps a color morph/pattern morph combo.

I'd vote super blast, enchi x desert, fire x woma, something along those lines.
