Do you find it attractive when Girls/Guys own reptiles?

Do you ever see girls/guys with snakes? Does it attract you to them or does it gross you out? Personally girls with snakes is a pretty big plus with me. Tell me your thoughts!

May be a plus for a common ground to start talking but will never be used as an attraction method. I could care less if someone i know has snakes or not, if they do cool.

I look at them as them not for what they have(snakes) to get to know them.

Fallen head over heals for girls who have owned reptiles in the past. Especially this one girl, Rabit, who not only owned them but is going to school to be a herpetologist.

I can't really say it would attract me. I'm sure most men on this site would think it was really hot if a girl had snakes/reptiles, but in real life (:P) the guys I've met think I'm a freak.

My most recent ex was a snake person...I'm a constrictor kind of fellow and they had a thing for colubrids. We both found it very attrative in each other. Sadly my ex turned into kindof a horrible person and we are no longer on speaking terms.

That said, both men and women with reptiles, particularly snakes, tends to get my attention. :)

If i could find a girl around here that has snakes, i would say thats a plus. If she isnt repulsed by me keeping snakes, that would be great already lol

I have girls lining up for when I hatch a clutch.

It's attractive if and only if they take proper care of their reptiles.

I wouldn't say attractive, but it's a plus. I would be more attracted to the good looking girl who doesn't mind me owning a snake and lizards. I've had girls come back to my place with me, and walking down the hall I remember I should warn them I have reptiles, and I have in fact, had girls say "thanks, but I'm good" and turn around and walk back to their car. Just the way it is sometimes. If I could get a girl who's cool me owning them, that would honestly make me happy.

Maybe they werent thinking geckos/snake/lizards in cages but something...... or perhaps they were thinking you had them running around free range style...

It's a good thing not all of us find it attractive, otherwise when we'd go to a show there might be.... issues.

I have to say every girl I ever dated looked at me weird like they didn't understand what I could get out of owning them. When I met my wife 9 years ago I had got out of the hobby because of how much I was working. As soon as we got married she told me to get back into it. She doesn't like them like I do, but she understands what they mean to me and shes cool with that.

I guess I can find it attractive sometimes, then you have something to talk about with the person and they understand how you love snakes. It's a plus for me but I wouldn't care either way, just don't want a BF that dislikes snakes LOL:D:rolleyes:.

I don't think it has any bearing for me. I don't find it terribly attractive when men are afraid of my snakes, but I don't care whether they keep them or not.

The OP is asking this in a forum where most of us are obsessed with reptiles.

A definite plus for me.. I'm glad that my girl has taken such a liking to reptiles! She's even more impatient about my new arrivals and purchases than I am sometimes!

I would laugh at them and say you want a real man not some sissy who is afraid of a poor defenseless snake.

My GF is not the kind of girl who will be picking up my snakes anytime soon, but she also is not the type to judge me by owning them. She is cool with me having them and the rats I have to feed them. As far as seeing a girl with a reptile, I don't think it would make me anymore or less attracted to her. As far as I know her pet may not only have a better personality, it may strike up a better conversation as well.

My last ex broke up with me because he didn't think I was as passionate about our relationship as I was with my herp hobby (he was jealous... :P). I can understand his point of view, because every time I saw a nice looking ball python, I'd flash the picture in his face and go all doe eyed, but I couldn't help it. It's like one of those subconscious things you try to control, but you can't when you don't realize you're doing it.

But yes, if I could find a nice guy around here who's into or doesn't mind my herp enthusiasm, it'd be a major plus.

Snakes aren't something I get hormonaly excited over, however; if a girl liked snakes and other herps it would be a big plus and make me want to get to know them.

nope not at all.... it is a plus and something that we wouldnt have to work out though.

I find it attractive in the sense that someone who keeps reptiles accepts them and respects my choice of pet, instead of being freaked out.

I think it would be cool, but I would feel that if my boyfriend liked snakes as much as I did, we would end up with far too many! Haha. He tries to understand, especially since I've only been in the hobby for a month. He doesn't (appear) to mind the rats in the freezer or when I ask him to hold her for a second.

I think it would be nice to be with someone who liked reptiles, but it's my hobby and sometimes I just need things to myself. The boyfriend won't bother me too much when I'm having a conversation with the pony or the BP! :)

My boyfriend didn't know I had a snake until about 2 weeks after we started dating. We had just never gotten onto the topic of pets until that day. When he found out I had a ball python, he smiled really big. He said he used to have a corn snake and a red tail boa, but he had to rehome them when he moved and that me missed them terribly. He was glad to hear that I liked reptiles, because he is a reptile lover, too. One of the many reasons why I love him so much. :)

With that being said, the fact that a guy has reptiles doesn't make them more attractive to me. After all, I'm attracted to him, not his pets.

Basically, it doesn't matter if they have them or not, but its definitely attractive if they do. Big plus. I feel like even if I wasn't physically into someone (look wise), if they had snakes and other reptiles, that could sadly probably make up for my lack of interest in their physical appearance. But I could never be with someone who wasn't into them like me. Luckily, even though my boyfriend doesn't own any (yet), he's definitely become fascinated with them thanks to me :D

I dont think it makes them more attractive physically but its awesome to both share something your passionate about. Ive never dated anyone thats as into reptiles as i am but ive dated some guys that arent scared of them... it annoying when guys are scared of them lol

My wife and I are both into herps of all kinds. Our attraction has never had anything to do with snakes or herps though. However, we both agree that if either of us had kept reptiles when we got together it would have been a big plus.

Owning reps wouldn't be enough to interest me in somebody on that criteria alone. However, if it was someone I thought was attractive from personality/looks/whatever it would certainly be a large plus.

Quite honestly, it's one of the first traits I look for. Well, not whether they keep/own, but if they are tolerant. All I require is a bit of tolerance and I'm good to go. :)

Hm... I wouldn't say attractive... But like many others have said: the guy/girl in question being ok or tolerant of reptiles is a definite plus. Animals in general are a passion for me, and I can't see myself giving up what I love to be with someone. That being said, it's more and more evident every day that I might turn my current boyfriend into another happy herper :D He looks forward to taking care of the snakes as much as I do now

Yea, I find it attractive if a chick keeps reptiles, or just likes reptiles. But, even if they don't. I wouldn't care.

i kind of do, its a big plus. Like everyone says not everybody likes reptiles and gets either scared or creeped out. My current gf likes snakes but cant get any due to family not liking them, but when we get in our own place, im sure we're gonna have a bunch of snakes togather. =p
