so remember that snake i couldnt get to eat

well he sadly died either last night or this morning :( and the bad thing about it is that i had an appointment made for him to be force feed with the only reptile vet i could find but he just wound not eat since i got him everything was perfect in his cage i jus dont understand he was my first reptile ever i got him from lllreptile an he just did not want to eat so r.i.p vegas i will miss u:(

I'm sorry for your loss, it's always sad to loose an animal, or a snake for the matter. I use to look at the snakes on LLLreptile I dont really see "Good Quality" animals, plus like other breeders they dont make videos on youtube videos showing there facility, and showing there way of how they care for there reptiles. I'm really sorry for the loss of your snake. But be sure to keep positive and consider another snake =D

Very sorry for your loss, I had a a yellow belly that would not eat for 6 months after i got her and she was only like 4 months old when i got her. She just took her first meal from me on the 12th of July, and ate a second rat on the 17th. It was wierd I kind of resigned myself to the fact she would end up starving to death also. She then went into shed randomly in the first week of july and the first time I offered her a meal after the shed, she almost immediately struck and ate within about 30 second of putting a rat in with her.

OMG EVERY ONE AFTER I FOUND HIM DEAD I CALLED MY MOM AN LEFT THE ROOM SHE WAS SAYING THAT SHE WAS GOING TO GET HIM OUT OF TO TANK BUT SHE SCARED OF SNAKES AN GOT FREAKED OUT WHEN I WENT IN THE ROOM
I SAW HIM UPSIDE DOWN AND NOT BREATHING SO I GO TO PICK HIM UP AS SOON AS I STARTED TO LEFT HIM HE MOVED IT SCARED ME BAD SO I PUT HIM BACK DOWN AN STEP BACK HE FLIPED OVER AN MOVED AN I STARTED CRYING TEARS OF JOYS BECAUSE HE ALIVES :banana: AN I AM SO FREAKING HAPPY SO I TAPS ON HES CAGES HE MOVES AGAIN I LEFT TO GO CALL MY MOM WHEN WE GOT BACK HE HAD MOVED TO THE BACK OF TANK MY MOM TAP THE TANK AN HE MOVED AGAIN IM SORRY FOR BUMMING YALL OUT BUT HES ALIVE AN IM TAKING HIM TO THE VET ASAP :gj::bow::bow:

I am sorry for your loss :( loosing a pet, new or old, is ALWAYS hard. I lost a few gecko eggs (the babies died in the egg) and I am a little sad about it :(

If in the future you would like to get another ball python (which I think you should) find a good breeder by you who has snakes that have been well started. A good breeder will always help you with any problems you have down the road.

LLLreptiles is not a breeder they are a retail store that buy animals from other people to sell. Kinda like Petco but less known.

I had a baby normal from lll reptile and sadly he was my first snake and he died :( He never ate for me no matter what i did. This was before i had this forum so i didnt know much about them

Ive done business with LLL in the past and they are pretty good at what they do (in my opinion). I hope that your little buddy gets better. I dont know very much about force feeding but I have seen it work in the past for others.

Brian is a amazing breeder and I have personally been to his facility and it is amazingly kept and the animals are all healthy. I am going again next month to his building to do a tour and pick up a few new snakes :P

I was all bummed out, until I read that he's actually alive - yay!!!! :banana:

Please keep us updated after the vet, as I'd like to know how he's doing. I too have heard iffy things about LLL's herps, usually that they refuse to eat... maybe they're selling imported/wild snakes, and pretending they're locally bred? :colbert: Best of luck with "Vegas," and I'm sure we can direct you to a good breeder if/when you get another snake.

Second that. It sounds like it came to you sick. Most good breeders (whatever) will replace (a cold term, I know) the snake for your trouble.

This really sucks. I'm curious about what sort of heat pit problem this could be, though. I don't know a lot about them in general.

I really don't think it's LLL's fault, unless I just happened to get lucky again, but I have a baby from the same clutch as Reggi, and today he ate his third meal with me after a little fast of not eating, and had a perfect shed a couple days ago. He arrived looking really good, and I've had good luck with them in the past with other reptiles.

Did you ever try live? LLL or the people they get their animals from feed their ball pythons live fuzzies and hoppers when the snakes are babies, and mine refused frozen thawed, but has eaten every 7 days a small adult live mouse.

I'm sorry for your loss though. :(

Sorry to hear that things took a turn for the worse...I was really hoping that you would be posting about him getting better and finally eating soon. I hope that you can work it through to get another one that stay healthy for you. Good luck.
