I was a bit skeptic too when I learned about the antenna problems. I started looking into the HTC Evo and Droid but ultimately decided to go with the iPhone 4 in the end.

The issues that are being talked about really are non issues. As it turns out, all smart phones have the antenna issue, as demonstrated: http://www.apple.com/antenna

It also has been discovered that most folks aren't having the antenna issue. I think it ended up being media just wanting to find something to trash, and latching onto it.

    More on that... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38263228

Nate pretty much covered it. I was a small issue shared with all smart phones. With all the hype and news about people waiting days in line to get a iPhone 4 media saw an oppertunity to blow this common problem up for a reaction. Whatever though, I get a free case out of the deal:D
Apple has offered to take returns if people are not happy with thier phones and so far less people have returned thier iPhone 4s than people did thier 3GS when it launched.

Anyway I have the 3GS and I'm currently on the waiting list for the 4.

I just like the Black Berry over any phone. I like to have it nice but not go too far with the whole touch screen, webcaming thing. Just a little much for my taste. :)

Well since you didn't have a choice of android I voted for the BB. As far as the iphone4 goes, it's already lagging behind what some of the current Android phones can do, let alone the new ones coming out!!

I've been considering getting an Iphone 4 I never owned a smartphone but they seem handy.

Still an extra 30 a month for browsing upsets me and hidden fees worry me. I may stay low tech on phones.

another reason to go with android is that att is limiting its "unlimited" usage plan to 2gb a month... now thats a lot but if your like me and have a droid, you have the capability to tether your phone to your laptop/computer and you can easily burn through 2gb :D

An iphone is going to cost you a lot more in cost of ownership than a blackberry is going to, that is for plan charges and so forth. I have a bb storm and have had for a year and I love it. My sister, mom, brother-in-law, and many friends have iphones and they all complain about crappy battery life and other issues that my bb never has.

The difference between the two as far as I can tell is that the iphone is more a personal, fun phone with a zillion apps, most of which are for personal use. The blackberry is more of a business appliance, with a lot of functionality and a few 'fun' apps for personal use.

Of course, if I was buying a new phone today, I'd get a droid, so take it for what it's worth. :)

Angry hit the nail in the head. Blackberry vs. iPhone is really like comparing apples to oranges at this point in time.

Droid vs. iPhone is the direct competitor.

I have an iPhone only because I've had an iPhone from the first day iPhone came out. I just kept upgrading because there was nobody else like it on the market. With the Droid, the playing field changes, but I haven't had a chance to test it out yet - no money yet. Same reason I don't have the iPhone 4 yet. I just bought an iPad recently so I'm building savings again.

Having had the BB Pearl, bold and now the iPhone4 there is no comparing the devices. While BB tried to break into the "Teen" market with the curve and the "touch" they are and will be for the foreseeable future geared more toward the corporate clients. BB menus are difficult to navigate and very complex, their graphics are 8bit weak and lets face it the over all size of the phone is laughable.

My iPhone is about the same size as the Pearl and yet the Pearl doesn't have near the power or ability of the iPhone. Even some of the bigger BB's like the curve and the bold while there are HTC produces the same size they have more to offer in User Interface and ease of use 10x more than the BB.

With the cost of smart phones coming in to the average users range you'd be better off buying an HTC or iPhone. While admittedly both have their little things that make the other side laugh, both are leaps and bounds above any BlackBerry Product out to date.

Smart phones??? Please... If they were truly "smart", they would be able to recognize when they were being used at the same time the user is operating a motor vehicle. This would cause the phone to send a signal to the car to shut it off. Of course this will only work the first three times. The forth time, the phone will shut off the car, lock all windows and doors and release a poisonous gas...:gj:

im not a phone person by any means. I dont like to speak on the phone id rather speak in person. So phones have never meant anything to me. I broke my old nextel which is now sprint and they offered me the blackberry for free since i had never upgraded to a new phone after like 6 years of using there service. I went with the blackberry because just about everyone i know has it so i use the bbm feature a lot. I know a few die hard iphone fans but its never really appealed to me.

Nope...sorry. The folks who drift across 2 or 3 lanes of traffic because they're so engrossed in their phone conversations have ruined it for everyone!!!

If you're looking for more corporate usage and not for all the bells and whistles...BLACKBERRY ALL THE WAY!!!!

If you want the fun of music, inet and apps...iPhone 4 is actually great...I have it and haven't faced any of the media bashing claims they are saying...The BEST thing is the BATTERY LIFE IS WAY BETTER THAN THE iPHONE 3...That alone made the wait worth it...

Side note, if the iPhone wasn't a gift, I'd still be a loyal Crackberry user... LOL

Correct..but you can't compare an entire device to an operating system. There are some devices out there that run on the Android OS that are getting close to what the iPhone offers..The problem is the hardware on those other devices are coming up short of what the iPhone has for the same price.

You know I hear you and then I see things like this
    iPhone 4 v HTC Incredible

HTC "3.7" 480x800 WVGA Touch screen"

iPhone "3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen Multi-Touch display
    960-by-640-pixel resolution"

HTC "Usage Time: Up 312 minutes "

iPhone "usage Up to 7 hours on 3G" aka 420 minutes

HTC "Standby Time: Up to 146 hours"

iPhone "Standby time: Up to 300 hours"

HTC "8GB internal memory*actual formatted capacity is less w/Up to 16GB of optional microSD support"

iPhone "Capacity 16GB or 32GB flash drive"

HTC Scensors " did see any listed but I know it has an accelerometer"

iPHone "Three-axis gyro, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, Ambient light sensor (for auto brightness adjustment)"

    HTC language support "English/Spanish"

iPhone Language support "English (U.S.), English (UK), French (France), German, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian, Korean, Japanese, Russian, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Hungarian, Arabic, Thai, Czech, Greek, Hebrew, Indonesian, Malay, Romanian, Slovak, Croatian, Catalan, and Vietnamese"

But like I said there are devices that's OS is GREAT!! iPhone worthy but the hardware fall's short. Or the Hardware is great and the OS falls short and when the carrier is charging the same price for a lesser quality device it just doesn't make much sense .

P.S. HTC, Motorola and Samsung are using a great OS. Google is poised to really give Apple a run for its money. But the phone's the actual hardware is still lacking in 9 out of 10 cases.

Would I ever own an Android device..sure I even looked at them really hard, their great phones and they are catching up with Apples device very quickly but the hardware is still in most not all but most cases falling way short

Well the specs certainly don't lie and the iP4 is a very nice phone on paper. It's also very pretty to look at. The big issue I have with them now is iTunes. Without it you can't do much to load music or backup (without paying even more). I personally just love that Android is very open and it has a huge community.
I don't have much against Apple, except I don't like how they do business. I can tether as a wifi hotspot for free in Froyo so laptop or iPad will always be fully functional. I thought it was funny that you can't tether an iPhone to an iPad.

I have a 3G mobile wifi for my laptop from AT&T for $60, the iPhone 3G for $30, and if I get 3G wifi for my iPad it will cost me another $25.

The new Samsung Galaxy S phones are insanely good media phones. They will playback tons of formats, including divx and Windows Media. Simulated 5.1 for movies is cool as well. Hands down the best display I've seen on any phone, and that includes iPhone 4. Less pixels, but overall I prefer the larger size and the way colors jump right off of it.

Got my Incredible the other day and can't put the thing down. I upgraded from the BB Curve, but I also have an iPod Touch, so I'm familiar with all the platforms. I'm already totally impressed with the Incredible and can only imagine what else I'm going to find as I actually get into using it more...
