Super Mojave X Super Mojave?

So from what I understand the reason most people choose not to do a Mojave X Mojave BEL is due to the "dirty" heads. I was wondering what would happen if you bred two BELs that were both Super Mojaves together. From what I under stand about the logistics of leutistics wouldn't their offspring be less likely to be "dirty", or at least have around a 25% chance of being "cleaner" or am I completely off base here?

Super mojo will always be a super mojo...with a purpleish head.

Think about it.

The super gives HALF its make up to offspring....so they would be Mojos....the other super would give HALF its make up...to be all Mojos.

So really...super to super...would only make Supers.

Not a "better" super.

So if that's true, then Super Mojaves arn't true leucistics? From what I know about Leucism is that it essentially "overrides" all other color genes in any animal that has it, hence makes them white. So (unless i'm wrong, which I very possibly am) breeding true Leucistics to one another would make any genetic "dirtyness" vanish in their offspring correct?

leucism is a over production of white. piedball are some sort of leucistic too. ivorys are leucistic ether.
in burms u got some leucistics with lonely single black scales.

most leucistics are not pure white. i would say the majority is dirty white (in all snakes).

its simple an overproduction of white- not a lack of ability to produce any color- therefore its comin that u have not true white sankes....

"Leucism is a general term for the phenotype resulting from defects in pigment... This results in either the entire surface ... or patches of body surface ... having a lack of cells capable of making pigment." So actually Leucism is exactly the lack of ability to produce pigment.

Supper mojavies are homozygous for the mojave version of the blue eyed leucistic gene. They don't have a normal copy or any other allele of this gene to give their offspring. So just like homozygous albino X homozygous albino produces 100% albino babies super mojave X super mojave produces 100% super mojave babies that should look like their parents.

im pretty sure that the supers would look the same, but i dont know why people dont like super mojaves. I actually like the bit purple on the head

Same here, we bred mojave x mojave specifically for the head color.

you just answered your own question they can be lucistic and still have some sort of color as in the dirty head on the super mojo and the patches of pattern on the pied

if you want a cleaner one bred a super mojo with a butter or lesser

Thats totally fine. Honestly I really don't mind the "dirty" look I was simply asking hypothetically. I intend to produce my own BELS made using Mojaves and was just curious what would happen. It's just I hear so much about people breeding for BELS, but hear very little in terms of breeding BELS together. I guess that's simply because they're so straight forward.

I wouldn't call an ivory or super mojo dirty just different and amazing in there own right. I love all the them.

So I now have another question, what would be the possibilities for offspring if you bred a Mojave to a Super Mojave? Would it be something like 1/4 Normal, 2/4 Mojave, and 1/4 Super Mojave?

No Normals...Half Mojave, half Super Mojave.

So Mojaves are a base morph? So then why is a Super Mojave only a 1 in 4?

It's a 1/4 if you breed 2 Mojaves together.

Mojave is a simple het for the Super Mojave which is the hom.

ivorys arent a luecistic. and yes luecism works by not allowing the color to be transfered to the cells, not an "over production of white" iirc they lack the chromatophores, or the cells that generate the color.

I agree I love that dirtiness that comes from the mojo x mojo lucys. I think it looks way nicer than an all white snake. I also love Ivorys for that same trait just gorgeous animals.
