Gargoyles
After getting ZERO last year, we lucked out and got FIVE this year out of a clutch of eight. Had to make these after we saw Ralph's.

Thanks, These are Cinnamon X Het Red Axanthic. Gargoyle is what I have always heard them referred to as. I believe that Amir (Snakes at Sunset) coined the name, but I think his "het red" was what he called a green pastel  .....all these names sometimes :confuzd: makes my head hurt.
Oh, and that is a cinny in the top left corner---haven't got a for sure sex ratio yet, but looks like 2.3 on the cinny het reds

Re: Gargoyles
Amazing snakes! Never heard of those before!!! AWESOME!!!

Re: Gargoyles
Congrats on that many!!
That's awesome!
And to answer the question, I named the Black Pastel x Het Red the Onyx to differentiate between the two.
Should be in the new version of John Berry's book.

Not sure who other than Ralph Davis has cinnamon het reds, and his site may have an adult picture. Het reds are het for red axanthic, produced by Corey Woods. Check here for more information http://www.coreywoods.com/red.shtml

Re: Gargoyles
Ok, so red axanthic is just a super blackback. I still don't get what makes them red. Oh well.

No, HET red axanthics are often blackbacks. Homozygous red axanthics look like axanthics with a slightly reddish cast to them when compared to other lines of axanthic. At least as babies.

Het red axanthics do have black backs, but they're not blackbacks. On the link I posted Corey Woods explains how red axanthics start out black and grey, and as they age they turn more ruddy and cream, then they return to black and grey.

Re: Gargoyles
