    How To Remove Moldy Egg?
Got a rotten one...and is starting to smell so I wanna get it out of there.

Just wondering what the best route is being that its stuck to the one next to it?

I have heard about others cutting it away from good eggs. I have one that is starting to mold, but I'm just keeping an eye on it and applying anti fungal powder to the mold. So far it is just starting to sink in. No smells.

Thats what I was thinking about doing but I just feel that razor blades and bp eggs don't mix. If someone could tell me in detail how to do it I would, but I don't want to guess at it.

I'd suck out the juice with a turkey baster then gently peal the egg away from the others.

I just leave them in if they don't come apart easily. It's not that big of a deal, just looks ugly.

or, instead of risking the other eggs with cutting, you could just cover the moldy egg with dry vermiculite. it sucks the moisture out of it and prevents the mold from spreading or smelling. altho i guess this is easier if the egg is off to the side and not ontop or something.

    hmmmm, dental floss huh?

This sounds like it could work decently as well as the turkey baster idea. Its stuck pretty good just don't want to rip it.

You want to use the turkey baster to get out all the liquid still. Peeling the egg doesn't always work, so using dental floss can help to ease the egg away.

My first couple of years breeding, I had a couple of eggs go bad. It smells for a few days, but the mold doesn't hurt the other eggs at all. ;)

Theres so much back and forth on to remove them or not I am going nuts!! Leave it, don't leave it....:rolleye2:

I am going to try in a little bit after I work up the confidence to play doctor and remove it with the dental floss. If it doesn't want to budge I am going to leave it be.

Yes...I wet a Qtip, cover with powder and rub on the egg where mold is forming. Works for me.
