Do you guys think this is a good trade??

I am going to be trading my Adult female yellow belly ball python.

For a baby nicuagrian boa with the 20 gallon setup.

Let me know what if you guys think this is a fair trade.

Anyone??

It really depends on what you want. I do ball pythons and wouldn't do that trade cause to me the YB is worth more. But if the boa is what you really want then it would be a good trade for you. Just remember value wise you are trading down to me. I wish you luck and enjoy.

I don't want to discourage you but is it a normal nic? I would look around at the values of the snakes you are trading first.

Do what you gotta do to satisfy your needs =)

If your into breeding, the trade wouldnt be worth it to me personally. If your yellow belly is just a pet then do what makes you happy.

Only you can determine what's best for YOU. No one can tell you what's in your best interest.

30$!! yea i know it was a steal. Im assuming the previous owner thought it was a normal.

I'd do it just because I'm a boa guy. I love both, but Boa's have always had me. I almost bought a baby Nic today and got a baby colombian instead. I also have a BP that is AWESOME even though she's just a normal. So it all depends on what you prefer. Is that your only snake?

The following is my own opinion and strictly an opinion:
That would do it for me, personally. You have the best of both worlds that way. Honestly, the only reason I would have a yellow belly is for looks as a display animal, but in reality, ball pythons make mediocre display animals because they hide so much. Boa's are much more active and climb and come out more often. To me, a nicaraguan boa is on the same level as a yellowbelly BP cosmetically. But don't let my opinion persuade you if you don't feel 100% about it.

Another way to look at it:
I saw baby Nic Boa's (10"-12") for sale at a show today for $25 (sorry, I can't remember the breeders name). At a price this cheap, you can't go wrong keeping the BP and getting a Boa, yanno?

Not sure about where you live... But in Ontario that breeder size yellow belly would be WELL worth over a grand ($1000+).

I am going to keep my female and attempt to breed her to my male normal.
