Snake tried to bite me. =(
Well my little baby snake tried to bite me lol. Its my fault though he was hanging up on top of the mounted Acurite Thermometer/Hygrometer and I sprayed the paper towels cause they were dry and the humidity was 49 so when I sprayed, some water got him and he flipped off the Acurite thing and tried to bite me twice through the glass. Hope he isn't going to stay like that lol. Plus he got fed like a little over 24 hours ago. Not the first time he tried to bite either my dad was spraying the inside of his cage and he tried to bite the sprayer cause it makes a hissing sound lol.
Plus can he get brain damage from attacking the glass so hard?

From the sounds of it, this is a wee little one. They tend to be a bit nippy by nature and usually grow out of it rather quickly.
As far as the brain damage, I would think that is rather unlikely.

most of the hatchlings I had are fine right out of the egg and then go through a period where they strike at anything. if they see you thru the tub they will strike. Then in no time most figure out what is food and the strking fades away. Then you get that crazy one that keeps on striking, it's nice when it turns out to be a female. a snake that strikes at you will usually be a pig at feeding time.

Yea he was hatched May 12th and that would make him a few days older then 7 weeks. But my dad stuck his hand in there to refill his water and he just jerked away a little but didn't try an attack. I think I'm going to try and hold him for about 20 minutes on Monday cause that would make it about a week I would have him for.

Keep in mind how small these little guys are compared to you. You are a big predator to them and it will take some time for them to realize you aren't going to eat them.
Don't over handle. 5-10 minutes a few times a week is more than enough, especially for an edgy baby.

This has nothing to do with your biting issue but I was wondering if it is OK to moisten your substrate. I am about to switch to paper towels and thought that you could/should only spray the walls to raise the humidity and that dry substrate was good substrate.
Would wetting the substrate potentially cause scale rot?

As long as the substrate has time to dry out at least once during the day it will be fine. Leaving the substrate wet or damp for long periods of time leads to the growth of mold and other infection causing bacteria.

Yea, I use Aspen and spray it at night (Not to much.) and then I soak the top of his hide and then get a paper towel and spray it down tell its soaking and then set it on top of the cover. This keeps the humidity 55-65 all night.

Funniest thing I witnessed was when I was spraying down the hatchlings. I opened the bin, and pulled the trigger, and the hatchling chose that moment for an open-mouthed strike. He got the spray right in the mouth. You wouldn't think a snake could get a funny look on his face, but he managed.

Lol, thats awesome. I held Leon my snake for about 30 minutes and let him roam the floor for a while and he seemed fairly docile but a little nippy and jumpy but still no bite. I think he just needs to get use to me. =p
