Two split decisions already.
I HATE split decisions, because it means the judges can't see what's actually going on.

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Wow round 3 :D
I knew he would come out victorious!

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Round 1: Lesnar bullrushes Carwin. Carwin goes down but right back up and gives Lesnar a knee on the way out. Carwin chants come from the crowd. Carwin with hard lefts as Lesnar crumbles. Carwin hammers Lesnar from the side. Ref giving Lesnar plenty of time but Carwin is hammering. Lesnar bleeding badly. Carwin working strong from the top. Electric atmospher. Carwin has Lesnar against the fence. Lesnar is cut open and bleeding. He's just covering up. Lesnar's back still against the fence as Carwin continues the assault. Carwin postures up with powerful elbows. Lesnar is basically covering up but not doing much else. Carwin backed off and Lesnar didn't even try to get up. Carwin goes into his guard. Lesnar looks like he's cut over his left eye and next to his right eye. Suddenly, Lesnar gets a burst and goes back to his feet as we dip under a minute left. Lesnar lands a knee from the clinch. Great heart from Lesnar just for surviving. MMA Fighting scores the round for Carwin 10-8.

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Round 2: Lesnar and Carwin tap hands to start the round. Lesnar smiles, maybe saying, "I'm still here." Carwin is now out of the first round. Uncharted waters. Carwin backs Brock up with a right. Lesnar takes him down and into the half-guard, which is his preferred position. Lesnar moves to full mount and then an arm triangle. Carwin breathes but it looks tight. Carwin taps out. Amazing comeback from Lesnar.

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Since Fedor recently lost and Brock just won it will be interesting to see if Brock gets ranked as the number one heavy weight in the world now...
-
Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Wow!!! I REALLY want to see replays of the lesnar/carwin and akiyama/leben fights.. sound like they were pretty great to see.
Props to Lesnar for surviving round 1 with Carwin, sounds like he was really taking a pounding.
-
Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
I was on the edge of my seat during the co-main event & main event.
Brock took the shots and made it through the first round. But to win via submission... I am impressed.

Seriously probally the best UFC ever. Everyone of those were solid fights!

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Man...I reallllly dont like Brock Lesnar. That was dissappointing.
-
Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Actually if Steve was reffing it, he would of stopped the fight and Lesnar would of lost.
Like I said though, if it went past the 1st round, Carwin was in trouble due to lack of stamina. Boy did I call it.
-
Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
I was soooooooo bummed with the result...I soooo didn't want Brock to win...I'm still bummed...:tears::tears:

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
One is supposed to intelligently defend themself which in my opinion Brock did not when Carwin was pummeling him.Had this not been such a big card or possibly a diffrent ref Carwin would have gotten the W.

BS. Watch the fight again on mute without Rogan blabbing his gums and watch. out of the 78 punches thrown by carwin. maybe 3 landed solid. Brock was defending his head and keeping busy. he kicked CArwin off him twice while on the ground and was back on his feet with over a minute left. He was never at any point out during that exchange. in trouble? yes. done? no f'ing way. he stuck the gameplan that he and Randy came up with. wait out eh first round, let carwin blow his load and then capitalize in the second round.

I hate to admit...That game plan worked, cause Carwin did shoot his wad early, which set-up Brock for Round 2...:rage::rage:

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
I have noticed that a lot of people that didn`t like Brock Are now starting to turn their opinions....me included. I think this scare he had has humbled him. I like that. the humble and respectful ones are the TRUE heros...;)

I never claimed he was out but all he really did for the majority of the time on his back was cover up his head.which as I stated and will again IN MY OPINION he did not do.Now I know that he didn't land a lot of punches but the ones that hit their mark were signifigant. With another ref or a less publicized fight it easyly could have been stopped(I know I've seen stoppage on less severe beatings) Reguardless how you feel about the end result it was exciting to watch and I have respect for both fighters due to the sportsmanship demonstrated at the start of the 2nd round.Personally I would love to see a Carwin vs Lesnar rematch in the near future.

Hmmmm...Where did you see this humbled spirit? I'd like to see it, so my intense dislike for him could be mellowed out...That's why I respect GSP so much, because he represents himself and the sport very well...I don't think Brock can ever rise to that level of professionalism...

Who cares if he gets 500 punches to his arms? If he's covered up and they are not solid hits to the head, then who gives a rats? It's part of the sport to take hits. Who cares if he was on his back or if he curled up. What he did worked for him obviously. If another ref would of stopped like Steve would of, it would of been a bad call, it's different when you're on your back taking direct hits to your face versus when you're on your back taking hits to your arms covering your head.

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Brock is a beast. i dont think there is anyone out there that can beat him. BTW The Crippler is also a beast. he took this fight after fighting two weeks ago i dont think there is anybody in the UFC that would do that. this was the best UFC in a long time.

Dang, I forgot about The Gimpler...oops, sorry The Crippler...He's another one that I was hoping to lose, but didn't...It was my night of picks...I'm glad I didn't put $$ down on any of the fights...:rage::rage:

his comments leading up the PPV, his comments on Fedor's Loss (he is the only one to actually defend fedor), and his post fight comments such as where he said he was standing before everyone has a humbled champion.

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Can't stop the Brock!
I love it.

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
Congrats to Brock for his second title unification! I'm not really a Brock fan, but I admit I was VERY surprised to see him win by sub! Nice arm triangle.
I was really hoping for Carwin to take him out, but unfortunately he gassed BAD and could not defend the Brock tackle anymore =P.
On a side note, Brock needs to work on his stand up, it was complete garbage. But congrats again, glad to see him as a more humble champion.

Re: UFC 116 Results: Lesnar vs. Carwin
I was pulling for Carwin too, but Brock pulled off a good win. That boy is tough! I thought for sure Carwin had it in the first round but he just couldnt get him out
