Looking good! I've got two clutches maternally incubating that are due to hatch next week. I love this time of year and watching moms do what they do best is great! Good luck with yours!

I'm thinking about maternally incubation my first clutch. I hope all goes well for you! What kind of substrate are you using, and what do you keep your humidity at? I heard it's best to leave the temps and humidity a little lower than if they were in an incubator so the mother can regulate it a little herself. Any truth to that?

Honestly, you don't have to do anything extra unless you were having issues keeping the specs at the right levels before the eggs were laid. If the enclosure is at an ideal temperature and humidity level for the ball (temp on warm side in the upper 80s and humidity no less than 70%), she can take it from there. If you try to go out of your way to change things and make the enclosure into an incubator, itself, you'll set yourself up for disaster.
