Re: Any bowlers?
I started last summer and continued until I started my current job. Don't have the ability to do league since I work nights. :(
I bought one ball right around a year ago, and within two months had two more. Now I have 5.
Throwing a hook ball is a blast but figuring out the lanes and knowing how to throw the ball is a different story.

Re: Any bowlers?
I used to bowl, I loved it. I too have my own ball, shoes, and all the other stuff...then I had an accident and pretty much destroyed my right hand, broke every bone, cant make a fist or move my wrist, and its still bent to the right a little, was pretty nasty. I had a hand specialist come from MN to operate on me...said it was the worst he has ever seen, and hands is all he does, eeek.
So now I Wii bowl on Wii Sports resort....bowling and golf, I could do it all day, hahahaha. :D

Re: Any bowlers?
I'm a bowler! I bowl in a handicap league, which allows me to bowl competitively against some really good bowlers. I started to seriously bowl 2 years ago. I had a 179 average last season and am shooting for 190 this season.

Re: Any bowlers?
I have been bowling since I was about 12 or so...I used to pretty much live at one of our local bowling alleys. My son was born 3 years ago and I Just never had any time to go, but I just started back 3 weeks ago. It feels like I never stopped. I'm avg 194 as off tonight. Not to bad for 3 years off. My best friend quit for about a year and a half and he is avg 231

Re: Any bowlers?
I bowled alot when I was younger and just started again last season after about a 10 year layoff. Last years AVG was 187 so not bad after a break. I have all my own equipment but I need to get a plastic ball for my 7 pins...If I convert those I might have a slightly higher avg lol..

WOW I cant break 170.... I'm just a weekend bowler though, no league or anything! its more for fun but I would like to get serious with it. can anyone reccomend shoes? it would save me a ton of money (house shoe rental is 4 bucks :O) and I might pick up a ball, house balls are not that great with me

Re: Any bowlers?
dexter shoes have been good to me, but like anything else everyone has their own preferences. is there a pro shop at the lanes? they usually carry some shoes that you can try on and see if you like those. they can get pricey though, and some have all sorts of options for heels and slides.

bones93 are you a lefty? The 10 pin seems to be my trouble pin, maybe a plastic ball would help with that... I practiced today, here's a photo of one of my games:

The 3rd frame was a 7-10 split, and frames 5 to 9 were spares. All of them were in the pocket, and could've gone for strikes. Ahhh, don't you just love this game?

Re: Any bowlers?
We have bowled leagues off and on for about 3 years now but my husband keeps having shoulder surgery(3 of them) and I got pregnant and had to stop bowling end of 2008 and just really haven't had the time to get back into it with the little guy we have now...I have 2 custom drilled balls and my hubby has 3 we both have the whole get up with the fixin's. We really haven't bowled too much in the last year or so as my husband had his 3rd shoulder surgery in Oct and has been having enough trouble with it to keep us off the lanes on a regular basis...but we both LOVE it when we can make time and have the energy!

Re: Any bowlers?
Bowling is alot of fun, I wish it was cheaper. I am not good, nor do I do it alot. But I love to go get wasted and bowl whenever the option is offered.

Re: Any bowlers?
Bowled last night, couldnt get any higher than 156..... the lanes were not slick like I'm used to, I cant explain but I usually get a lil sliding action in my shoes but not last night.... seemed like superglue  my lowest game was 45 :D I gave up by 2am!
