Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
i baught him at a price of 65$ he's 2 yrs old.
He was sold as a "Normal Paradox", he has the speratic black "fog" marks as i've seen on a Paradox, but he is Pastel Yellow in color
(in the pics he doesnt show it but he is almost lemon pastel yellow)

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
Looks like a nice normal to me.
However, does his mouth still look like that? He has some health issues if it does.

Just about to say the same thing. Something isn't right with his mouth (on the left in the pics)..

It looks like someone gave him a fat lip.

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
vets - now!
or it wont be anything...

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
From the picture it almost looks like mouth rot. Thats a real serious problem. You should schedule a vet appointment immediately. As far as the identifying, I would say just a nice normal. A true paradox will go for much more than 65 dollars..
But get him to a vet ASAP

its a normal with mouth rot

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
He is very bright looking. What does his belly look like? Is it clear? A picture of the paradox spot would be nice, as I'm not seeing anything. A paradox should he a white or faded part of his pattern that looks like someone dumped bleah on him. Of course, if he is anything other than a normal it could only be proven by breeding and see what he produces. An interesting dinker either way.
Yes, and get his mouth looked at. He could be in pain. I would also talk to whoever sold him to you if he is sick. That's not cool if you weren't pointed out the issue.

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
Definitely need to get him to a vet. That's a normal, this is a pastel. He might have a little paradox on him, but we'd need more pictures. Paradox is just a paint job, and has not proven to be genetic, hence the low price. Paradox can mark up morph prices though.

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
would say normal too. pics do often not justice but in this case i would still say its a normal- with mouth rot!!!
take him to a vet immediantly- that looks very serious and i looks like its not just from yesterday...
the bacteria from mouthrod can get into the lungs and cause death if not treated fast enough!!!

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
it's not mouth rot. but thanks for you concern (he was eating when i took the pic that part of a mouse) but i check all my snakes & lizards every week to every other week
I know what a Pastel looks like & he is that color it didnt show in the pics, But the part that looks "paradox" is from his head to a bout a 1/3 of his body is a high yellow normal then like 5-6in of the "pastel" yellow the like 1-2in of the normal then like 4-5in of the pastel then 2-3in of normal then the pastel to his tail (even if it's not and i was lied to i dont care he's a great snake but in person looks like no other normal i've seen)
I'll get new pics, but he is starting to shed so the yellow looks like a white yellow, but i'll add pics
But in this pics the red outlines are the "normal" and the green are the bright yellow parts
And about the belly it's white & black, but parts have a li'l yellow to it

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
ok sorry about the mouthrod- really looked like it...
on that pic i can understand what u mean its darker in front than its lighter in the middle and again- darker in the end.
looks cool- never seen it- i would still say a very cool normal, but u know that game-
proove it- breed it and breed the kids back- maybe its genetic but maybe it comes from incubation temperature

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
Ok thanks a lot everyone, normal or not i absolutly love this guy, i plan on breeding him next year to see if it is a trait
i'll still put some new pics after he finishes his shed, but these pics just dont show his great colors

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
It's a normal. Unless it's a het for a recessive trait, it's a normal.
I don't see how that could be a mouse in the mouth. Unless the mouses stomach opened up on the way down, and that's it's guts in the BPs mouth. Typically when a snake is finishing up a mouse, you'll either see a pink tail, or a head. Whatever is in it's mouth is red.

Not to mention that the neck isn't stretched or anything like it would be if there was a mouse in there...

Re: Wondering if anyone could ID this guy
well what ever it is/was the phoo was right after eating a small rat then they get a pinky rat as a treat, but holding it every day since and looking in its mouth and seeing it yawn that red/brown is not there, there is No swelling, No excess drool, No redness, No loss in appitite (he's my best eater), Or "cottage Cheese" , but looking at the photo again it may be a small peice of mulch (he will not eat in a seperate feeding tub, so dont start in on impaction i stay with him until he is done eating) He is fed on a plate but every now and again he will push the rat off the plate then eat it
i've owned reptiles for the past 18yrs, and to this day i have 3 Argen B&W Tegus, 1 Red Tegu, 3 BP's, 2 Toads, & 1 Cuban Tree frog....so i'm not a noob to this & if i say it's not there & it's Not MR then please take my word and drop it
But again thank you all for your concern about my animals, i love that total strangers care about animals they have never met (i really do mean that i'm not trying to be a smarty-pants)
