Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
He/She's really pretty. Yellowbellies are the hardest in my opinion. Post a spider, and then ask me.
Did you purchase him/her as a yellowbelly?
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
Nope not a YB..cool looking normal but not a YB
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
I bought it as a yellowbelly.

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
Was it a CH yellow belly?
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
Yeah thats not a Yellow Belly in my opinion
You might have just got "clock-worked over"
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
My question is what is making you question it now after you've bought it??
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
not a Yb i'm afraid...
no 'shatter pattern' on the lower sides - belly is completely wrong

Your pictures are terrible from what I see its doubtful that she is a yellowbelly. Take better pic's or compare yours to mine, Ed's and Joe's.

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
Yellow bellies vary alot. From very suttle almost normal looking to the extreme with flames speckled belly with the yellow..And the pictures the other members are giving are excellent examples of yellow bellies..I'm in no way a expert. Hopefully it proves out for you good luck..
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...l/IMG_9754.jpg
here is my belly it's was produced by Tom Baker... A very repitubale breeder.
Don't have belly shots but it is the speckeled with the yellow tinge...
Hope his helps

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
A quick search on Fauna BOI and Clockwork Reptiles appears to have a good reputation. Have you contacted them about your concern?
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
I think the yellowbellies on his website look good. I think it's just a result of dull pictures, but I would contact them just incase. They could have sent you the wrong snake, it happens. Good Luck!
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
Again, as has been said, yellow bellies vary a LOT. The pictures that people have been posting are all of excellent quality yellow bellies where there can be no doubt about what they are. They have all the classic signs. But again, not all yellow bellies are excellent quality and many can look very normal. Even though your pictures are really horrible, there are enough tell tale markings to lead me to believe that it could very well be a poor quality yellow belly. Is there any reason you wouldn't believe the person you bought it from? And for that matter, who cares about the quality of the markings as long as you can eventually produce an ivory?

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
I returned her. Going to stick with pro exotics. She did look nice though

Ok .So what did they say? Do you live close to them to be able to return it that fast?

He kept telling me that she is yellowbelly no doubt. Not so close.

The only way there can be no doubt is if she was sired by an ivory because to be honest, apart from the head fade (which lots of normals have) she shows no yellowbelly traits.

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
I am EXTREAMLY iffy as to if you actually bought the snake as a yellow belly, in this post,
http://ball-pythons.net/forums/showthread.php?t=122068
you ask if its a spot nose, and then say you found out that it is a Yellow belly? How can you buy it, ask what you think it might be, and then find out its something else...after you got it.
Something just doesnt add up.
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
For one thing, the pictures are terrible. Clockwork is supposed to be reliable so I would venture to say that if they sold it to you as a yellowbelly then it is, in fact, a YB.
So you returned it just because a few people examined bad pictures and gave you their opinions?
How about doing some research of your own?

Read the post above yours and follow the link - something about the OP's story doesn't add up. He didn't even know what he bought it "AS".

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
I've noticed alot of people who buy their first BP as one morph always think it's something else. Even I did, I just didn't make posts about it :P So maybe that's what is going on?
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
Well apparently he got rid of it so it doesn't matter.

What? That's goofy. Why would buy something and automatically assume it's something different? I have never thought something I purchased was different.
Then again, I've never bought from an untrustworthy source.
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
Well if he bought it as a normal then I can understand his curiosity of the possibility of it being something else. However, that doesn't seem to be the case here as he has apparently returned it after being unsatisfied with what people are telling him. :snake:
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
Well, when I bought mine... It was pretty clear she's just a pastel, lol. But something like a normal, people always seem to think their normal is a YB, or spotnose, or Fire, any of the really subtle morphs. I can see where a YB that's not a great example could be mistaken for something else by someone who is new.
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
Thats really sad that because it seems like he doesnt know what he had he is going to drag clockwork through the mud. I know these guys from shows and they always seem very knowledgeable and I have seen some amazing looking snakes at there tables. I hope this gets worked out.

Well the profile says he is 18 so he should know better .

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
I really think that if the original poster does not explain himself this thread should maybe be deleted. Just having a thread mentioning a breeders name as selling something that it's not on the board when the OP's story looks very shaky is wrong. I don't know anything about the breeder mentioned, but I would be pretty pissed if some kid posted my name in a thread like this when it appears to be VERY questionable whether he even bought the snake as a YB.
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
No, don't get it wrong I love clockwork. I thought she looked amazing but she didn't have the belly marks and side pattern. Could be a mix up of balls. I'm not mad I just know what ever else he had wasn't around that weight so I'm just going to go else where.
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
You still have not addressed why you are posting multiple threads about what morph this animal could be?
If you are impuning or drawing into question the repuation of a breeder, you need to clarify these things.

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
I bought the spot nose or what I thought was a spot nose from scales n tails. They had it around normals but he stood out to me. Only charged me $40 no tax for what was a NORMAL. When I bought the female yellowbelly I was in the mist of going to the north scales n tails store to meet Rich with my two balls. Rich knows ball pythons well so, he looked at my yellowbelly girl but he said she looked like a nice normal. Then he saw what I called spot nose and said I have a yellowbelly male not a spot nose. I think I got that store in trouble because I told him what they sold him to me as.
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
something is wrong here- i just dont know what yet...
the idea with deleting this thread is very good- i think
clockwerks name is in this and it looks like they ve sold an animal as something that it isnt.
i mean it was probably (im pretty sure) a yb, but we know it now after 4 sites.
ppl who read one site of this thread, could think that clockwerks sold an fake yb.
thats just not wright
if this was about me, i would wish that this thread would be deleted as fast as possible!!!

didnt u say, that u got ur other bps from pro exotics?
edit: i dont really know, what a spotnose goes for, but i bet they cost more than 40$.
and: if u understodd that wright- scales and tails sold u a "spotnose" for 40bugs- than u buy a yb from clockwerks. u have thoughts about both animals and post threads if they are what they sold as- and u use the names of the sellers. u take the "spotnose" to his seller (who knows bp very well) and he tells u its a normal. then he say your yb is a normal also and u return it at clockwerks.
that sounds so weird for me
(or is scales and tails differnet than north scales and tails?)
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
No sellers names here. Rich is the guy from a different scales n tails I took my balls to. Maybe it was maybe it wasn't either way she was not what I was looking for.

Ok if you really wanna get into this hobby and know what your doing one day, start researching these animals there care, mutations, etc, we were all there once just like you we did not know how to pick out the subtle morphs and did not know proper husbandry techniques. Learn.... Absorb info, there is an ocean of information here just use it if you are really into ball pythons.
Do not bring breeders with good reputations down because you want your $40 dollar normal to be something it is not.
I also believe this thread should be deleted
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
for the next time- when u buy a normal bp for 40$ and u find he looks special to u, than make a thread and ask if others see that too.
DONT post the same snake twice under spotnose and yb and say that they sold an animal to thats not what it should be!!!!
and u brought names into this- pro exotics, scales and tails, scales and tails north and clockwerks!

they jsut want to be special and think they got a deal lol, time to get real people 99.999999999999% of the time, if you bought a cbb normal its a normal, nothing special
i also agree the op is sheisty

Alright, thanks for clearing that up. I compared the patterns and yes, they are different snakes. I had thought that they were the same.

ok maybe I don't make sense but those are two different balls I put up first of all I just wanted to see what you guys thought. I care less if this gets deleted just wanted to get your guys thoughts.

Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
yeah it was a little bit confusing
i thought u posted the same snake twice as two differnet traits.
its sometimes hard to tell if a yb is a yb. all these morphs that look alot like a normal are hard to tell apart- even for ppl who are in this hole snakes thing for years.
a great site is "hunters guide to the morphs". its in this forum here too. its expains many differnt types (like yb and het peid marker etc)and show how u can "read" this morphs...
-
Re: This is a yellowbelly right??
well either way turns out I got a yellowbelly from pro exotics... And my 40 dollar normal turned out to be a YB also thank you very much.
-
Realy? A normal turned into a YB? Thats sweet!
