Almost took my arm off ! LOL
I managed to upset Tango today...1st, I took him out for some photos wich he didnt mind at all, but before putting him back I "FILLED" his water bowl that he LOVES to hide under, well filling it made it to heavy and he was trying like crazy to get back under it so I thought I would help and move some Aspen around and try to raise the dish enough for him to get back under...well I should of known better, his head was shaking and and he following my hand, but I continued to move my hand around in front of his face moving the bedding around...BANG!...little dude is fast, hehe!!!
But I survived, hahahaha...YAY MY FIRST BITE ! More of a nibble really but it still counts!

looks like you might need to go to the emergency room...LOL
Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL
That picture is WAY too graphic for this forum. The mods need to do something about it before it really grosses someone out.
Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL
what appendage is that exactly? :D

Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL

Thats so cute though, he gave you a love bite :)
Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL
Better than when by BP first tried to bite me the other day. Never struck once in 3 years and then the other nice she gummed me! No teeth!
Congrats on your first bite!!!
Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL
Hahaha...thats all that remains of my left hand pointy finger, ROFL.
I was going to call 911 but forgot the number
I just looked in on him to make sure he could still get under his water bowl that he loves so much and realized he isnt mad at me, he was stiking the lights when I picked him up and at me again, I didnt notice his eyes the first time so I took a good look at him from snout to tail....this is my first BP, my first Snake actualy so I didnt pick up on the signs right away...hes going to shed! It will be a first for me, I am excited and praying all goes well to remove the unshed eye caps he had from the previous owner. So I gave the enclosure a good misting to bump up the humidity and left him to his privacy.
:please:
Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL
I notice there is still some unshed eyecap from the previous shed...you can see the bits from the ridges on the eyes. I hope it all comes off this time, the previous owner had no humidity gauge or anything so I recieved him with unshed eyecaps, luckily it was only 1 layer though and I am keeping the humidity up.

Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL
that photo is to graphic? WHAT!! haha ive seen way worse.
Tonyaltn yeah just keep the humidity up and maybe soak him once. His eyes are still milky so he still has probably another 3-5 days before the actual shed.
Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL
I would not soak before the shed. Apparently the chlorine in tap water can leech the natural oils from his skin and cause a bad shed.
Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL
I use distilled baby water for all my animals, our water here has alot of chlorine, I dont even drink it because it smells like bleach....kinda nasty, and it leaves alot of residue glass surfaces, my bathroom mirror is a pain to keep clean.
Is distilled water ok or would I be better off filtering my tap water ? There is another kind of water I can buy in gallon jugs but I cant think of what its called, lol.

They are joking, lol. :D
Re: Almost took my arm off ! LOL
purified, probably stay away from spring imo. Distilled should be fine.
