    Steel City Expo
Anyone been? And if so, is it worth going to? (Yes, I know I'm from WV, but Morgantown's right outside of PA)

I've only been to the Pittsburgh Reptile show and sale at the Harmar House in Cheswick PA. It was a good time for myself and my kids. I have yet to make it down to the show in Washington county. Let us know how it was if you go.

Its a great show. Much larger than the Pittsburgh show at harmar house. Its still a new show but they advertise it pretty aggressively so its usually busy all day. A lot of out-of-state vendors come in too.

The Pittsburgh Reptile Show is pretty awesome, however there are a lot of low end dealers there... people with animals that die, people with shotty setups, etc. But there are other awesome people like Paul Wyble (who I believe is with Steel City Reptiles and works at the Steel City Expo).

It was a pretty good expo. We got there pretty late as I had to drive from Weirton, WV to Morgantown, WV to get my boyfriend and then to Washington, PA. Overall, It was pretty good. Got a male cinnamon and a bunch of frozen mice. The guy we got the cinnamon from was quite rude however, so I doubt we will buy from him again. The only reason he did was because he knocked the price of the cinny down for us as he was packing up. All the other vendors we talked to seemed very pleasant and overall it was a good show.

Wow, all of us around here should meet up if they do another, or at the next show at Harmar House (next month).

Where's Harmar House held? That'd be awesome! I'd love to meet some of the people I talk to on here.

Harmar House is on Freeport Rd in Cheswick, PA.

Here is the link to the show. They have a link for directions on the site.

This is a great show better then hamburg if they add venomous snakes to the venue it would blow other venues in the area out of the water. I highly recommend going.

I was thinking that this wouldn't be half a bad idea. I would mostly be window shopping but wouldn't mind meeting up with you all.

The Harmar show is decent, but the Steel City show is way better. Last couple times I've got to Harmar I've come home with nothing, which is a pretty difficult feat for me. Just not a lot of variety anymore.

paul started the name steel city exotics, got with ben and they started the show. and yes, not much about ball pythons that paul doesn't know.

what do you mean by shotty setups? when you walk in the door at cheswick, the first vendor on your right, keeps his snakes on display in many sizes of deli cups, he's been breeding not just keeping snakes for over 35 years. if anyone has a question at the show, They all go to him. even the ones with the nice displays. He can pop a snake without setting his beer down, he is also on staff at the daytona show. yes, their is a vendor there who has a rep for his reptiles not being healthy, If I want something from someone that I'm don't know, ask the other vendors before buying, you will be surprise on the answers you will get.

That wouldn't happen to be Bruckman (SP?) Reptiles? He does seem to know his stuff and when I was there he was showing a crowd how to pop.
