Inexpensive hatchling hides?

I'm sure many of you have come up with ideas for good, inexpensive hatchling hides.

Anyone willing to share?

Target sells small food/water dishes for cats or small animals. They've got finger holds so they can be picked up easily, and are hollow underneath. They fit into most hatchling bins easily. I use these for most of my hatchlings, as they hide underneath and have water on top, saving space. Pushing them to the back of the lets the baby stay warm and increases humidity.

They love them. :)

The bowls are less than $2 each.

You can also look outside at Wal-Mart, where they have the plants and flower pots for sale. Flipping one of the plastic flower pot bottoms worked out very well.

You can get some shears or scissors and cut a little entrance hole in it too.

i use plastic bowls from the party store (it was like 10 bucks for a pack of 50 black ones) and i just use a soldering iron to burn doors in them, or i use the things for plants, these http://www.johnstowngardencentre.ie/...saucerspd.aspx and burn the same doors in them. awesome hides for babies.

I use little thin plastic bowls and cut a small entrance. They sell them at the grocery store and Walmart in a 4 pack for like $1. They're plastic so easy to clean.

Yup same here right out of wally world, They are 4 to a pack for some little plastic bowls. I get the black ones but you can pick from the 10 or so colors they have....

I tried the small plastic cereal bowls, but the ones I found were a bit big for my babies.

I went with 4 packs of big blue plastic cups for $1 at the local dollar store. They are a snap to cut down and make really snug hides for nervous babies.

I bought a whole bunch of these and love them, built solid, and the money supports a great guy.

$5/ea is expensive.

flower pots are probably the least expensive way to go , or make your own.

What section of Walmart are these in? I have looked around for them and haven't seen them. I have found other plastic bowls but they did not fit in my 6 qt's...

We use the black plastic salsa bowls they sell at the grocery store. Then we carve doors in them with sautering irons.

$1.00 on most days, $0.75 if you get them around major sporting events.

so what department at walmart are those in

I go to the 99 cent store and can usually find deals like 3 or 5 little bowls for buck. I take them home and melt an opening with my soldering iron.

I have bought boatloads of them and everyone at the store always thinks I am having some kind of party with all the little bowls, lol
