My first post, I just got her from petsmart 4 hours ago, her name is Kinky. :D

She/he looks in fairly good health, needs some food. Make sure not to handle her/him for a week to let it get settled.:)

a newbie question: is it okay to wake the snake up even if he is in the middle of his sleep? would this make the snake aggressive? how do you actually wake him up and not pissing him?

are you out of your mind trying to wake a snake up from their sleep! that is a big no-no....LOL i'm only joking...hahaha. it does not make the snake aggresive, what i do is rub them mid body until they show some movement and then pick them up so as not to scare them. congrats on your pick up.
forgot to mention, let your bp settle in for atleast a week before handling.

Congratulations! I know it's very exciting to get your first ball python, but it's important that you not handle her for a least a week, and preferably until after she's successfully fed at least once for you - to give her a chance to acclimate.

When you feel tempted to handle her, remind yourself that you will have 20-30 years of handling her ahead of you. :D

hahaha thanks everyone... yeah i'm so excited with it! i will be feeding him on Wednesday for the first time since i got it Friday, and according to petsmart they just fed him that day. anyway, i think my snake is showing signs of hunger now since he keeps on roaming around the enclosure specially at night.. and he sticks his head out on his hide. :)
