My new fur friend!

I adopted this little guy yesterday evening. He is 2 years old, pure bred, and a ball of energy! He was in a home where his people were deaf, so both he and I are having a bit of a hard time communicating as of yet. He can hear, but doesn't really understand the concept since he is trained in sign language. I however am not trained in sign language unless he wants me to use the alphabet to spell everything out :oops: Just thought I would share!

Also, could anyone tell me how to put pics directly in the thread rather than just a link to photobucket?

unfortunately links are the only way to post pics. when you post look for the yellow box with the mountain where u can change the font, etc and insert your link and then publish your post/thread.

Here is what you do, copy the IMG code text when you are viewing the picture on photobucket and paste it like I did here. :)
Just make a mental note that they tend to move photos on photobucket and your links will die before too long. Might try flickr. :)

I don't like flickr personally - can't figure it out for one.

I've been using Photobucket for years, and they've never moved my photos. I've moved photos, but they haven't. Even pictures I've posted here five years ago are still viewable in their original threads.

Yep yep, I've had photobucket for 4 years and all my pictures still work. They don't move the pictures, you do. I can't figure out flicker either Robin!

Lol he is still fun loving and likes everyone as of now, but who knows maybe he will get stuck up. Or do you think maybe thats more the owners reflecting on their animals?

Maybe photobucket doesn't move photos, but of all of the photos I've seen with bad links here and on other forums, they are photobucket bad links. And I was told that it was because of photobucket's problems, moving pix or something.

Not sure what you can't figure out about flickr, it makes sense to me. But then, I also couldn't figure out facebook years ago. I took a year break, then it make sense when I filtered out the junk (games) and just started poking around. Being open-minded is half the battle. :)

Awesome dog to rescue!!! He is a good looking boy!!! And on a side note I also always use photobucket and I have never personally had a problem with it.

It's because the owner of the pictures either re-named the photo or moved it to another folder themselves, not because of anything that Photobucket has done.

Photobucket works flawlessly for me.

He is already a handful lol! These dogs are dainty... I am used to dogs you can take outside to play, let them run and have fun, etc. Not this guy! His allergies are bad, his paws get raw, he can't overheat lol little guy is a prince! But I love him either way and we are having fun so far :D

I have no idea. It seems like their personality. Sort of like cats, they are more independent. It could just be the dogs I meet, they were all girls..... I've never met a boy. One of the owners said they were a stuck up breed, maybe they only had girls too, lol. I'm glad he is fun loving! He's super cute!

Thinking about this... people think my dobie is stuck up when they meet her out in public. The breed tends to reserve their happy fun loving attitude for the people they consider family. She's a basket case in the house or with anyone she really likes! So I suppose I have a stuck up dog. I wish she were always stuck up. Oh Dobermans, why do have such a long puppy stage... :D

The puppy stage is the best part!!! I love dobermans, I just don't have the space where I am living now :(

Rather than starting a new thread, since this fur friend is new and exciting still I will just post this update here.

Apparently, Frenchies are also Bissels...or maybe Dyson vacuums. Either way they tend to suck up everything they find, especially what they are not supposed to:colbert:. Tito found a large piece of an eraser (don't know where he found it, don't have any kids) and ate it. Of course I knew nothing about it when it happened. But it plugged him up pretty good! Poor little guy felt terrible and was throwing up everywhere Friday afternoon and Sat morning he went to the vet. They sent him home with some antibiotics and did some blood work. Got the call yesterday that said his numbers were off charts and need to bring him in. So I did. They took xrays...and well.... $1900 later, he feels a lot better and is missing 4 inches of his intestine.

Here is the little guy on the ride home. The bandage is just where his catheter was. He is happy to be home now though!
