    Best Looking Blue-Eyed Lucy?
Which combo produces the whitest BEL with the least bit of noticeable pattern? Multiple choice.

Optional question: Have we had enough Blue-Eyed Lucy threads lately?

I didn't vote. I like them all and have no favorite. Each is unique and that's what makes them special.

The Sutherlands recently said that a mocha x mojave made the whitest Bel. Others say the super lesser, I guess we would have to see them all together at one time to decide.

I wish I could edit the damn poll, but hopefully people that are of this opinion/experience will chime in with comments. Shows what I get for thinking I can skip reading a thread to get a simple answer...

Been told lesserxlesser by a couple big breeders and I havn't seen anything whiter.....so i voted lesser/lesser but.....

but i also believe lessers and butters are the exact same thing and a lesser/butter or butter/butter i would assume look just as white as a lesser/lesser but i havn't seen them next to each other.

After seeing Bruce Whitehead's BELs, I am definitely in love with them :) They are very clear, clean, and white, and they were Lesser x Lesser.

So I voted LXL, but I have noticed Mojave x Mojave can be 'dirty'.

Yep. Avoids the eye problem too from what I have seen.

Aye, from what ive seen the Mojo x Lesser yields just as white of a BEL as Lesser x Lesser. I must also add tho that I have only seen tweaked eyes in BELS with the pied gene present. (anyone else that has seen different please chime in)

Here is a link to some pics of mine (post 23).

Do a search on the KS classifieds and you will find another one (Search super lesser). The pics in that guys ad are bad but you can still see that the eyes are off. From what I have been told it's pretty much a 50/50 thing if the are bug eyed or not. I wish someone would have told me about this before I bred my lesser x lesser. I could have saved a lot of money at the time if I bought a lesser and a mojave instead of 2 lessers. I also heard about the lesser x pieds eyes being a little off. I am still trying for those anyway because I want a pure, pied white snake.

Hey Thanks man, Ive def seen that before, All of the Pied BELS ive seen have a different tweak then that tho, Pied BELS seem to sometimes end up with REALLY tiny tiny eyes. Either tweak is severely hard to look at for me, a real eye soar :weirdface

Hay John how do you distinguish them apart( super lesser and the mojo x lesser) Are the eye's so different? Different blue?

No difference that I can see. You just have to make sure you are careful with the labeling.

Wow that's cool I would have expected some subtile difference. I can't wait to produce mine,I'm gonna do both the super lesser and mojo x lesser.

Wish I could vote Phantom/lesser ... RDR's seem to be the whoitest I've seen.

And no wierd eye issues with my lesser/mojave.. :)

I actually really like the "dirtiness" of the mojave X mojave. I love the faint hidden pattern more than a cleaner lucy.
  • 07-08-2011, 05:40 PM
    Clear
As a pet I would pick the dirty super mojave. I like the Super lesser also. I want both. But I have no plan on breeding any mojave morphs so I will wait till the price is cheap for a super mojave.

I've also heard lesser pieds as far as being the cleanest whites, but i wasn't aware that there were any "side-effects" that could happen so that changes things.

Butter x Lesser has the chance for tweaked eyes...same as Lesser x Lesser or Butter x Butter...but they are VERY white...

I had read about Lesser x Lesser breedings having issues with bugeyes...similiar to the rat snakes...back then (a couple years ago) I wasn't sure Lessers were the same as Butters...so I did a Lesser x Butter pairing in hopes of avoiding any eye issues. No such luck. I hatched out one Lucy and he has a little bit of the eye thing going on...fortunately he's not bad...

I don't know why people keep quiet about things like this... bad for business maybe...

Here's a pic of My Butter Mojave...She's real clean...I like she has the Butter and Mojave genes instead of just one gene...Makes for a more powerful breeder!

The white snakes are pretty and striking but I like the individual characters that you get with the 'dirty' guys. I wouldn't say no if someone were to give me a lesserXmojo but I really like the MojoXMojos. :)

    Lesser X Butter

Haven't got good pics yet but all 3 Lesser/Butter Lucy's we just hatched are as white as white gets and no eye issues that I could tell.
I can't wait to see them after first shed.

Me too! I'm getting a pair of juvenile fires on Tuesday I found on craigslist. Said he'll take $200 for the pair because he's lost interest in breeding. Hoping they're legit ;) And as far as my vote I say lesser x lesser.
