Which Pastel should I get?

Hey so I have store credit at this reptile store and I was thinking of just using it to pick up 1 of the 2 pastels they have at the store.

Left one = male pastel
Right one = male jungle pastel

I was told that both of them are $150. Is that too steep for male pastels? On Kingsnake.com the male pastel is listed for $100.00 and the jungle pastel is listed for $125.00. (are those prices more reasonable)

Anyway, I'm probably gonna pick up one of those snakes in a few hours. Any suggestions on which one?

Pet stores will pretty much always be a little more expensive than buying online. I personally would go for the one on the right!

ya i agree about the pet stores being more expensive.. but what confuses me is that it's the same exact pet store that posted the ad's on kingsnake.

so for example: Jungle Paste was $150 in the store, but on kingsnake its $125. Plus shipping fees which are around $50. Are they just dropping the price a little because buyers have to pay the shipping fee? Would it be right to ask for the jungle pastel for $125.00 when I pick it up from the store itself?

I like the color of the one on the right but I also go for pattern too. Can't really see the patterns form those pictures. Is there any difference in their eating habits that may dissuade you either way?

Price does seem steep. IMO

But, it will be purchased with store credit.

They both look good. I like the jungle more.

Not to knock the pastels in the KS ad but they don't look as nice as the two you are holding in the picture. Plus, you'd have to pay for shipping which is in addition to the $100. I'd pay more for a nicer pastel.

I'd pick the one on the right.

thanks everyone.. gonna go pick it up now. and Ya I have to use the store credit anyway so might as well get a pastel from there. (even though its a little overpriced) They don't have Mojos or Spiders ..

If I am correct being you are from Queens is this the pastels listed from Bobs Jungle? I've seen them online also if so. In any case I like the one on the right seems to have brighter yellow. Good luck

ya im from queens.. but i'm living at a house in selden for now.. and I'm a full time student at Stony Brook.

PS why would he sell over the counter to you for more than it is listed for online?

Given other options, gettin a nicer pastel will be better. But if you're really into those 2, then my vote goes to the one on the right. :)

I think the one on the left will be light once it sheds...i would wai and see how they look post shed and make a choice but by then I'm sure you already picked lol

A nicer pastel could definitely be found.. but I did need to use the store credit, so I was limited to choices..

However I picked one and I am pretty happy with him.

Funny story is. I was gonna keep him quarantined for a week and not feed him until he gets settled in but he seemed very fiesty.... so I said why not. and I thawed a hopper for him.. offered it to him and he ate it within 20 seconds of having it dangle in his face..

I'm assuming this one won't be a problem feeder for me. That, or he was just really hungry. (The store owner said that he ate just last week)
