About poop...
So I've fed my BP Fidel, twice since I got him, it's been about two weeks since he arrived and I have yet to see a poop! I got a little pile of white urates a week ago, but that's it.
My question is, how long do I wait before I get worried? I know his feeding schedule was off before (non-existent really) so maybe his body is using up more of the mice? I dunno, I'm not worried yet, just wondering when I should start, lol.

Re: About poop...
There really is no need to worry. Your snake will poop when it is ready. I've had snakes go weeks in between going.

Re: About poop...
Be glad. When it does come, you'll think to yourself, "WHY did I want this!?" At least if yours is like ours and saves everything (poo, pee, urates) for one movement.
He probably is using more of the mouse than normal if he was in need of the nutrients.
This is another common concern I don't understand. Why do so many people wonder if their snake is constipated?

I think people get so concerned because most pets along with humans do their doo daily.
Your snake will go when he needs to-sometimes it can be 4-5 weeks in between poops. Just keep feeding on a regular basis & he will leave you a mess to clean up.

Re: About poop...
Think about it this way, do you poop after every meal? Or every other meal? I would hope not!
Snakes have a very slow digestive system. It takes quite a while to process all that delicious mousy goodness. They can go as long as 5-6 weeks without pooping with no ill effects. Don't worry about it, they will poop when they need to!

The white stuff is not bone. It is urates, a hard form of pee. They also have liquid pee and solid poop. Poop looks exactly like poop should look. A brown log...

Is shtinky, too!!! You might want to be more aware of his...erm...butt :) when you have him out for handling. My poor daughter was twice the victim of snake turds and flooding. I have been had once and one other time I had JUST put him down on the floor and I heard a big POOT, looked down and a turd shot out. So yeah, he'll poop. And when he does, you'll know it. Esp. if you're holding him ;)

Re: About poop...
Lol alright, that's what I was thinking. I don't think he's constipated, I just wasn't sure how long they go without going before they're deemed "constipated." I too have been pooped on, but by smaller snakes. :P Thanks for the info!

I can empathize with your daughter. I had my female hanging out on my chest one day while was starting to nod on the couch. I got startled by a sudden stream of liquid running down my chest. Nasty!:omfg:

Believe me! Honey's gone twice since we got her. And Steve's right. Everything all at once and the first one was on me! And OMG the smell!!! How can something sooo messy and smelly come out of these creatures? They fart too! Honey's farting woke me up last night it was so loud.

Re: About poop...
Well he finally pooped. Lucky enough for me, it was inside his cardboard box hide so I just tossed it. His poop looked like a dog/cat turd more than any snake poo I've seen lol, maybe it's just the larger size.
I thought I heard something last night, a sort of popping noise. I guessed it was probably a BP "fart" and when I went over for a whiff of the cage, I didn't smell anything so I didn't poke around looking for poop, and went back to bed.
