Ivory Het Piebalds
This season is a late bloomer, but the first clutch just shed out and is great way to kick things off for 2010! The Dame for this clutch was here at JKR on breeder loan from my friend and BP.net forum member Jonathon Bryan (Eyeball).
Pumpkin Pied x YB

Ended up with:

0.2 YB Het Pieds
2.1 Het Pieds

Re: Ivory Het Piebalds
So, Justin, I see you've got one of the het pieds listed as YB het pied, and one listed as YB gene X het pied. How'd you tell the difference? Got any comparison pics?

GeneX is the new gene I'm working with that seems to be the highlighter gene in the Pumpkin Pied. Identifying them in the YB's is not an exact science yet, but the GeneX YB het pieds seem to have bigger flames heavier belly markings than the typical YB het Pied. A lot more breeding is needed to nail it all down officially. ;)

Congrats, Justin!
The Gene X stuff I have here, appears to throw a lot more random markings on to the YellowBellies, loops and blobs all over the place. And as you've mentioned the Belly tends to have heavy edging as opposed to a traditional checkerboard.
